A few weeks back I saw, in the "secret ingredient" thread, a guy who said that beer was a secret ingredient. You can't loose weight while you drink it. I am now inclined to give him a high five.
This week, with dh gone on business, I decided that me and the kid could spluge Tuesday with a pizza night. I went way over my calorie limit. The following night, I went 100 calories over, and that total included several beers. Last night, I wasn't over at all, but again, the total included several beers. But I've worked out 4 days in a row (including today), said workouts including 40 minutes of cardio (arc trainer) and 1/2 body strength (upper one day, lower the next)
I have gained a pound each day!! On Tuesday morning, I weighed 134. Today I am at 136.5.
They say that it takes 3500 calories to make a pound. To be generous, I will say that I gained 2 pounds (rather than 2.5) so that would require eating 7000 calories more than I burned.
My total calorie intake for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (gross, not net!) was 6147. And yes, I track everything.
All I can figure is that beer is a magickal ingredient that doubles the effect of calories... ? (It is not just alcohol, because I have often had several glasses of wine in an evening without affecting weight loss at all.)
