I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all of you and your encouraging words and advise. I got up this morning and hit the road at 7:00am. I was so worried but, during my 5 minute warm-up walk i just kept telling myself that this was no big deal and i could do. I ran 2.1 miles in 31 minutes. During my run I walked for one minute twice. one of those minutes i had to walk up hill. But, when i came around the corner on the home stretch i was so proud of myself.

I couldn't have done it with you guys!!!! Thanks again, for the encouragement and advise. I took it to heart and it paid off this morning.

By the way, what is the best piece of equipment to get to keep track of my miles, steps, heart rate, etc? Right now, I have just a regular watch to keep my time and a perdomitor (right word? sp?) to keep my miles, steps, and calories burn. I'm committed to the change and would like to invest in a all in one piece of equipment. Thanks

    I have to say the Garmin 305 or 405 is the way to go! THey both track everything (distance, pace, route, heart rate, calories) and come with a HR moniter, the 405 is smaller than the 305 (that's the biggest difference)!

    WTG on your run, as beginning runners we all expect way to much of ourselves, if you continue to listen to your body, you will do GREAT!

    Woohoo!! Congrats! You are seriously on your way to being a rockstar runner! I'm so happy for you! I'd recommend my Polar F6 as a heart rate monitor BUT it doesn't track your miles so I'll let someone that knows for sure point you in the right direction. You'll probably be wanting a Garmin forerunner something or other. Keep going for it! emoticon emoticon
