Happy July 4th!!!

Friday, July 04, 2008

Celebrating with our friends today. Expecting around 26 people to come to our home. We will cook BBQ chicken and sausage. I have been smart about my day so far. We are going to light the fire for the BBQ in about 1 hour.

So, it never fails. We had a friend call us today. She wanted to know if she could come. I hate for people to feel left out and welcomed her, and an hour later she started texting me wanting to change the time and asking for a ride. She wanted us to change the time for her, even though she isn't an American and she is the only one who had a problem coming early. Making it later would be hard for the Moms with multiple children to get to bed.

The good news is that I stood my ground on the time and she bowed out gracefully. I think that it helped that I made sure she knew that about 1/4th of the group was leaving early because they had to catch the plane back to the USA.

So I did good. I can be a little insecure about things sometimes, but I knew that the majority were happy to have an early night to keep the family happy.

The needle on the scale is moving ever so slightly down. I plan to see it go down more by the end of the week. This is going to be a day off from working out for me. I think I deserve it. I worked out really hard the last 4 days.

Happy Forth of July! Our BBQ starts at 5pm I've saved up 1000 calories for supper! I may not even need them all! That depends on the dessert!
