Hubby home!

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Don made it in after 3 days of hard travel. He was attacked by tsetse flies yesterday. Poor team. They were in sweltering heat and had to keep the windows up in the car, because they were in the area with the very vicious flies. The bites of these flies can cause African Sleeping Sickness and other problems, and they are very hard to kill. I have never seen flies that keep attacking you after you hit them.

They had at least 3 flats and he had to repair the fan belt and remove the thermostat. They drove till midnight last night and got up at 6 this morning. Finally got home today at 6:30 p.m.

He was delighted to have tuna salad sandwiches and a special treat I picked up for him: Real Cheesecake with real rasperries on top. I normally would not endulge, but he had 3 hellish days and needed a special treat.

After all of that, he still found the energy to call me, "Skinny". Funny that the first thing he did after he kissed me was notice that my pants were almost falling off of me. That was worth the nearly 2 weeks of no hubby.

We enjoyed each other's company and now he is falling asleep. I can here his breathing getting heavy, so I need to go for today.

Glad he made it home safe & sound. You must be very relieved!

A little cheesecake once in a while will only help keep you on your program. Well, once in a blue moon, anyway.
