REJOICE in the Lord Always!

And again I say, "REJOICE". Let your reasonableness be know to everyone. The Lord is at hand. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be known to God.
It was my turn to share in the morning devotional. I have been really battling negative thoughts in my mind, so I felt that I was preaching to myself as much as leading a devotional. The first thing I had to do was to take my wandering negative thoughts captive, so that I could fill my mind with the truth.
"Finally, MARY, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is commendable, if there is anything excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise- MARY- think about these things..."
The process that Paul goes through begins with rejoicing, then changing the things you think about. Next comes the art of contentment....
"For I have learned in whatever situation I am- to be content. I know how to be in need, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME".
The art of contentment..........I am not exactly there yet. I told our staff that I really wish my brain had a switch to turn off. The brain seems to get in the way of what I KNOW to be truth. That God is in control of everything.
The next step is to look beyond ourselves. We have to take the hand of someone and help them to get through the rough roads. That is what gets us to true victory. NOTHING else can really meet our needs better than helping someone else get through their trials.
I had all the staff say the last scripture over each other:
"And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus" All scripture is from Philippians 4:4-19.
I make that declaration over each of you today. God knows our need even better than we do. He is ready to work on behalf of those who wait on Him. That is the secret. He is waiting for us to stop and let HIM take care of us.
God be with you where you are. He loves you more than you can imagine.
