it's been exactly a month since my last blog entry ... no exciting news this time. just a catch-up on what i've been doing lately!

i went to that first personal training class ... decided it's not for me. not that class, anyway. it took two hours, and the one thing they kept stressing is that the rest of the sessions would focus on the best ways to get people to buy personal training from you. i'm totally not a salesperson. i HATE bothering people, trying to get them to buy stuff. so that kind of sucked. i really wanted to learn more about training techniques! i guess it just wasn't the right time and the right class.

the engagement is going well! i'm a little over a month into it :) yeah, my wedding is still two long years away. but i'm totally excited to start planning! i think my colors are going to be azalea pink and green (green's my FAVORITE color!) . dave and i want to get married in milwaukee, and i'm going to look at a few venues tonight and on monday. woot! we're thinking of doing a friday afternoon/evening timeline; ceremony at 4pm-ish, followed by pictures for the wedding party and cocktails for the guests, and then a fun night of dinner and sweet music :) anyone have any tips? i've never done anything like plan a wedding before!

now, onto the marathon training ... i twisted my ankle last sunday and i think i sprained it in the back. i did the elliptical for a few days, and then i did a short 7-mile run yesterday thinking it felt better. it totally swelled up again! i'm taking today and tomorrow off so hopefully i can do another longer run on sunday. we'll see how it feels. i think i'm pretty on-schedule with my long runs though! sweet :D

    Sounds like things (besides the ankle) are going really great for you. Glad to hear it!

    Here's my advice for your wedding: in the initial planning stages, dream as big as you want, as ridiculously unrealistic as you want.. because it's those initial ideas you'll get beautiful, meaningful plans from. Don't let anyone tell you what you want is silly: it's your day. :) Have you checked out They've got lots of great ideas.

    Hi Kristin,

    I hope your ankle is better. You have a few months to go before your marathon so you can afford to take a easy week when you get an injury or an illness. you won't loose any of your fitness until after a layoff of 7-10 days, so it's often better to rest, ice, (ten minutes on...ten minutes off...ten minutes on, 2-3 times a day), and heal for 4-5 days and then come back strong and rested.

    Only advice I have is to check out "the knot". You will get tons of ideas there. I only wished I discovered 'before' we got married instead of after.

    Best of luck in all your wedding planning - it can be stressful - but man is it ever fun! Especially after your married, so awesome to find your soul mate and plan the rest of your life out with them!

    i LOVE your color theme for your wedding! that is one of my favorite color-combos... right after purple and gold (my college colors, hehe)

    bummed to hear about the personal training class-- i used to belong to the NYSC, and the trainers there would act friendly to you and strike up a conversation, but then they'd just end up harrassing you to meet with them for a "free session"-- which was always followed by 62,345,286 phone calls and voicemails to set up your NEXT appointment. ick.

    ok, i gotta get back to work. RICE that ankle of yours, gal!! ;)
