I finally did it!

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

For years I have wanted to get my high school diploma, I finished the ninth grade before I had to quit. I didn't want to take my GED, I wanted the knowledge of the courses etc... I wanted a diploma.
I've spent years researching correspondence courses etc... and always, ALWAYS talked myself out of it.
Last year I made a goal of doing it, but I talked myself out of it because of money.
This year I hadn't even given it a off thought until today. I was sorting through some old bills and came across my info I'd sent off for last year...
I went online to check it out again and found they were offering $100 off tuition if enrolled before the 31st of May.
Soooo I did it. I called and enrolled in a correspondence high school diploma college prep course through Ashworth University! I got to pay 40 down and 45 a month and I smoke that much a month so I vowed to myself... I will quit smoking and start educating myself. A good trade off I think.
I called my husband at work and told him and he said he would quit too.

So the 6th of June I will be 38 years old and a high school student.

Now the nerves and anxiety and second guessing are kicking in... but I WILL do this. I CAN DO THIS! I know I can.

Woo Hoo, girlfriend! I'm so glad that your dream is coming true! And quitting smoking is a wonderful trade off! That will give you many more years with the boy!

I have to say this....I am a homeschooler at heart and I think you have done quite well for yourself. You crochet beautifully, I love your felted bears, I agree with a lot of what you have written politically and you write so well that I always want to come back to read more! Not to mention your book I'm waiting to read!

In this homeschool mama's eyes you are an educated person! I don't recall reading that you hadn't graduated from High School...I could never tell. You are a natural learner and I KNOW you will succeed in this next chapter of your life!
