Yes, it can be done!

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

emoticon Yes it can be done. I am on my 11th day of my quit and it does get easier. I don't want to diminish the fact that I could slip at anytime. I know that little voice in my head will probably always be there. So far I've not gained any weight. i always thought I would. but when you stop and think about it , the odds are kind of in our favor. I always wanted to smoke the most after I ate. That was the hardest one to not want. If I quit it makes sense that I shouldn't eat since that is the one smoke I wanted the most. So if I don't eat , I won't smoke and if I don't smoke I won't eat. Make sense? Heck I'm confused!! I know what I mean so I hope you do also. Well, It is my hard work that is making it possible , But it is with the help of all of you that I've made it this far. Never underestimate the powerof this website. We should all be eternally grateful to Sparkguy. I know I am.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today. I am returning the favor to remind you...that you also, are not alone. I am praying you quit smoking for good. My dad died of lung cancer, although he was not a smoker. It is not a pretty site. Very hard for a family to watch that......I will pray that you make it......for good.....so here is to your journey to health. We will do it. We have to. Together.

Get ready for the cough to get worse before it gets better, it's something to do with the tar and other junk getting off your lungs. Takes a few days but it does go in the end. Then in a couple of months you will actually be able to climb stairs, walk faster and taste your food better. Makes it all worth while. When my DH quit he finally admitted that what made him do it was a schools programme. They were discussing death and variuos causes and one young boy stood in front of his class and described how his father had died of lung cancer. All he could imagine was our son doing the same about him.
