Migraines suck!

Friday, May 02, 2008

Ugh, today has been a bit of a disaster. I had to work late tonight which I'm not used to doing which was bad enough. Then the weather was dreary this morning, kinda blah. I get up I'm fine, puttering around, since of course I can't sleep late. Send my boss an email reminding him I won't be in til late. Then....all of a sudden my vision goes completely blurry. Scary! It only lasted a few minutes, but that was enough. And definitely killed my appetite.

I exercised(yay!), then after that was done, and after my shower... beginnings of a headache. Sure enough apparently I had an aura, though don't recall ever having one before, by the time I get to work, yeah migraine. Normally I'm just light sensitive and nauseaus.

Anyway, I didn't even reach my calorie goals today because of the nausea feeling and just not feeling like eating. I ate maybe half my chicken, and picked at my potatoes and veggies. I had a banana and apple juice(which tends to calm my nausua) and treated myself to a chocolate cookie for a snack as I was at work feeling miserable. All I really wanted to do was curl up under a blanket away from the light, the only shining point of the migraine was eyeball didn't throb like it sometimes does.

Then tonight I at least bought food even though I didn't get to even pick up food til 9:45pm. Eating late at night has never been good for me, normally it wakes me up. I bought a small pasta and a side salad from Fazoli's. I ate maybe 1/3 of the pasta at best, closer to 1/4 and about the same on my salad. Total calories for today 889. This is more like what my daily calories seemed to be when I first started Spark and started making myself eat more. It's now 11:45PM really too late to eat anything else and I couldn't eat anything if I wanted to.

I'm get migraines too & it does suck!! You did alot better w/ yours then I would do...I become completely incapacitated if I don't catch it immediately. Some things that works to stop them for both my son & I are a long shower w/ the shower massage on very hard & caffine...don't worry about eating, etc. today, each day you just have to do the best you can! Good luck!!

Ugh, sorry to hear it. I get tunnel vision before my migranes. I'm just really lucky I have very minor ones. My brother had to be hospitalized while in Paris on vacation because of a migrane. I know that wasn't fun.

I hope you're feeling better today!

I'm so sorry. I'm lucky that mine seem to be primarily hormonal in nature, so when I was younger, this was an issue for me, but not nearly as much anymore. I wouldn't wish a migraine on anyone.

I think mine was the weather change. It affects my sinuses or allergies which often seems to trigger a migraine.

    Ugg. I'm so sorry.
I get auras with my migranes where I can't see for about ahalf hour. No fun.
Sounds like you had a stessful day planned. Stress is a factor for my migranes, I know. And not enough sleep.
    Hope you feel well soon.
