help!!!!! I HAVE HIT A PLATEAU

Thursday, April 17, 2008

Ok well I have not really been on spark people in eons. I have been working out still and eating PRETTY healthy but I am stuck. There might be a few reasons for this but only a few considerable enough to effect my weight loss. I have a new boyfriend and he is great and all but he is really effecting my weight loss. He is all behind me working out and eating right, but on the weekends he screws up my eating habits. I will eat good all week but on the weekends as soon as I see him we eat some unhealthy food that makes me gain like 2 pounds during the weekend. I hate it. I have been stuck in the 220's for like 2 months now. HELP!!!!!!
Also I really think I might need to change my strength training and cardio. I am so used to my cardio work out which consists of running on the treadmill, walking up the incline, and the elliptical machine. Any ideas on how to spice up my workout would be excellent. Should I stop for a week then start again or stop the weight training? I am willing to do anything at this point. I am going to 7 wedding this year and I have to look Feb at every single one of them.

It sucks to be in a plateau. I have hit one too. We both need to do the same thing- remotivate ourselves.
You are the one who is deciding to overeat on weekends, not your BF. Just like you, I am the one who is deciding to overeat this week, not anyone but me.

First of all I am so proud of you. Your looking really good. Your body has adjusted to your workout. That's why it's good to change what your doing every once a while. You could add another day of cardio to your routine. Do not give up the strength training~ you are building muscle and that will also help your burn more fat. Try pushing yourself harder and increasing your weights.
I agree relationships can really do a number on a girls diet. When we break up we loose weight to fast , when we start a relationship we gain it too fast.
Try giving yourself one cheat day on the weekends and just let it be okay to eat whatever you want on one of those days.

    Blessing,

I think new relationships always put us in peril of remaining consistent. It sounds like you have the bigger battle won - you are still working out and eating well during the week.

Sit your new boyfriend down and have a heart to heart - tell him it is a 7 day a week program you need support with, not 5. Weekends are tough and being in the new stages of 'like' make it really tough!!!

Try to get involved more with SP and find time to post...it really does make a difference.
