losing my britches...size-wise

Monday, April 07, 2008

well, I am beginning to out-grow my pants....
or should it be that I am in-growing my pants?
I know that toenails can be in-grown
but what about clothes?
I am excited that my jeans no longer hurt my waist.
I plan to wear my jeans until they fall off my hips.
Progress made but my figure is different
I am not completely satisfied with my curves
as only the bottom half of me is curvey.
The top half of me remians flat.
Yet I will love my body as it has served me well
It is a short body
that has been injured but heals
even though scars remain.
The left thumb is attached after almost falling off.
The left hip works in spite of the scatic nerve pain.
The left and right ankles function after sprains.
The left crushed foot tries so hard to do its part
while complained 24/7.
The right knee demands the use of a crutch
in order to transport the body to its various locations.
The belly is a little floppy after birthing 5 royal rugrats...
Two babies left the body at 20 weeks gestation
and the other 3 were well over 7 to 8 pounds.
The rest of the body is greatly appreciated.
Inner organs work although iron-deprived.
The emotions are highly sensitive
with moments of depression
balanced with times of deep joy....

Yep, I guess I will keep this body
that houses my soul, my mind, my heart...

Because it has served me so well
I must take better care of it....
The body deserves to be healthy....

blessings to all....

Yesterday we had a jeans day at school... should've worn a belt, but I didn't. Jeans are sagging a bit, maybe 2 or 3 inches in the crotch, and they drove me NUTS all day. I commented to one of my groups of freshmen that I don't know how the boys can STAND sagging their pants like they do.

The looks on their faces were PRICELESS. For one, my jeans were nowhere close to sagging in their estimation. For another, I could see all of them trying really hard NOT to imagine their 44 year old teacher sagging her pants!

I decided that those jeans are the pants I'll keep for my before & after photos!

I'm losing my britches too! At the moment I look like a homeless waif who's forced to wear someone else's oversize hand me downs. And it feels SO good!

Yes, for all the abuse my body has suffered (diet pills, couch potato syndrome, overeating, etc) and the pregnancies, stitches, sprains - through it all my body has hung in there and served me well. Time to reward it for all its patience.
