Just an update of sorts... i have been looking for the perfect easter basket idea... see...when i am looking for these bright ideas... one must remember...i have 9 kids to think i have my 3, their b/f's and g/f and my 3 nieces... of course i don't go all out for the other six as i do my own 3...though they still get hooked up pretty good... so today i had to finally do the dreaded shopping...i hate shopping..right up until the point i am at the store..then i think of the darling 9 children... 6 who actually call me mom, though i only gave birth to my original then the other 3, my nieces, who think of me as a mom, since i helped raise them... so i get in the store...i start at the dollar tree where everything is a dollar... $1...that's all for each thing... nothing higher than that...and..i spent $90.... that's right...$90... and i wasn't finished...oh no...i still went to walmart to spend yet another $90... think of it this way... i also am making a basket for mom... so $180 for 10 baskets... that is still alot of stuff to go in these the fun part will come tomorrow when i have to put them all together...then the sparkle will go out of my eyes and i will look at all i still have to do and think.."am i nuts????" but no fear..that sparkle will come back as each kid and mom gets their easter basket made especially for them with all my love... for my 3 kids-i got them each a laundry basket and a towel that will serve as the grass... i also bought them each a one of those wash clothes that look like an egg to start, and you throw in water to make them into the wash cloth...i also bought for all of them so many toys that i can't even begin to name them i did buy some candy, but not as crazy this year as years past....

so that is my easter shopping adventure...tune in this weekend when i will give you all an update on the work situation and the new...uh...old... (returning)

Kitty, no wonder you are tired, stressed and little bit crazy. Nine kids, but you sure do spoil them rotten. Have a great day.

Your blog sounds like it was fun JoDee!!! Glad to read it. You are a hit no matter what project you undertake - putting your all into it! Perhaps I should take you shopping with me for my Christmas shopping ideas!!! I know you will have even more fun filling the baskets, in spite of all the anxiety:)) LOL.

I feel ambiguous about this holiday - happy that my kids are adults and no longer do make them an Easter basket - but, I miss all the fun!!! Bottom line though, no credit card bill to pay next month:)

Have a fun Easter Sunday tomorrow!

    Hugs, Nita

Very playful. Perfect for you. When I was in college my family made me a laundry basket with a towel laundry soap and food. I was so poor. That was the best gift ever. Sometimes the dollar store is more expensive that the regular store. I like the wash cloth egg idea. But it sounds like you had fun. You sure have a lot of kids to think about. The thing I like about my nieces is that I can give them back. But it sounds like you can't so that makes you the Mom any how..

Wonderful holiday post. Holidays are hard for some people. It looks like you are on the offensive on this one!

Oh Kitty, how fun! I too went out and got stuff this week for the Easter baskets. Didn't spend quite as much as you, but I only have 2 to worry about. I have to go home from work tonight, get the kids to bed, put their baskets together and hide them. It will be so much fun! Can't wait to hear how they liked the baskets!

I forgot about the Easter basket that I would make for my kids, and you helped me bring back good memories.

I would take a grocery sack for each kid and draw a bunny face about half way up on the one end. Then I would cut the sides down on all of the other sides and the face would be half way up on one end and the ears would take the rest of the way.

Then I reused the Easter grass as was the custom when I was a kid.

You brought back good memories for me. Thanks!
