I need help!!

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

My weight is back up to 139.2 this morning. I don't know what to do!!! I am scared it is going to creep back up on me. I am exercising and eating fairly well. Any suggestions? Someone want to hold be accountable -- I am spiralling out of control and I don't know how to fix it.

You've already gotten some great advice. Not much else I can add.

Hang in there!! Don't panic. I think everyone goes through periods of gaining a little but it will come off again. Sometimes just changing your workout routine to something different helps too.

If you eat the same foods every day, change them a bit and that might help too. Just many things I have picked up on. Hope they help.

We have 2 more days left to rack up cardio for our BL orange team :-) See if you can get an extra 30 minutes today and tomorrow. Even if you have to break them into smaller increments of 5,10 or 15 minutes.

    YOU can do it!!

It's clear that you are putting sincere effort into your plans...I highly doubt that you are seeing an upward trend if you can stick with your exercise / eating plans. When it comes to maintaining weight, however, I agree that cardio rules! So if you want to avoid further upticks on your weight, bump up your cardio. Perhaps just find a few extra things you can do now and then, jump rope, stairs, parking further from your destination...these could make enough of a difference for you.

GL and good for you to post your concerns! We're all in this together to WIN together!

I looked through your food and fitness trackers and first I want to say - good job logging your food! I've noticed a few days recently where you've gone over what I think your daily calorie goal is, but not by much. You seem to be doing a good job getting in healthy foods while still finding some wiggle room for treats. I didn't notice the water log. Are you drinking 8 glasses of water each day? Also, make sure you're getting enough protein and fiber.
One thing I noticed that I would recommend is getting more cardio. It appears you're not getting enough and I think upping your current cardio workouts will help you get those pounds dropping again. I recommend atleast 30 minutes each day, even if it's only a brisk walk. If you can't do every day (or the thought of that is too daunting, which I can understand believe me!), set a goal for yourself for atleast 4 days/week for the first 2 weeks, at LEAST 30 minutes each time. See if you can walk longer, or increase the grade on the treadmill to burn more calories. If you get bored walking, try something new, even if it's only for one time. Many gyms will let you try out their facility or classes for free to see if you like them (just pretend you're thinking about a membership or joining a class, heehee); or checkout your local community centers for drop in volleyball, basketball, aerobics, etc.
Something that's always fun - play with your kids! My son loves to wrestle and tossing him around is a fun way to burn calories. Push them on their bikes or pull the wagon around the block. I'm no expert, but I love teaching my son gymnastics moves and different calesthetics because he thinks it's fun and I get a workout. Getting the kids involved not only helps them feel close to you, but it also keeps you moving and if your kids are anything like my son, keeps you accountable (did you run today, mom?).
Adding more cardio to your day will definitely help you shed those pounds as well as making you healthier and feeling better. :)

You can do this. Re-focus. Deep breath. Ready? Go!
