interesting mistake

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

well, i really wanted a banana chocolate milkshake and got everything ready... only to realize somebody finished the ice cream. so i ended up with banana chocolate milk which did NOT taste right, so i stuck it in the freezer hoping it will be more like a shake. we'll see i guess *L0L* and if i dont like it, i can always give it to my dad, he'll try anything once.

what i dont understand at all is my da's eating habits. why does he feel the need to snack while he's making supper, eat seconds at dinner, have something for dessert, and then head back to the kitchen for a bed time snack? i swear he eats almost as much in that one meal as i do all day!

if he eats a salad, its huge and drowning with ranch-bacon dressing topped by a couple layers of cheese. and thats just his side dish! i'm terrified he's going to have a heart attack as he falls under the "extremely obese" section of things. truth is that my da just looks a bit overweight, y'know kinda like santa clause, so you dont think anything of it. even the doctor guessed wrong and thought my dad was mebe upper hundreds, but in fact he's 260lbs.

mum and i have both tried to get him to loose weight, and he says he's trying... but every time i see him he's eating. and not those eat six small meals a day, but more like six full course dinners a day. when i tried to track his calories for him he got mad at me, and i never see him exercise. honestly i think the only thing he does is walk to work if the weather is nice, which is maybe ten minutes a day.

he used to play on a hockey team but ever since he changed jobs he doesn't do anything. in fact, he can't skate anymore because he's too heavy and it hurts him to try. mum tried to get him to talk long walks with her but he always says he is too tired after work and doesn't feel up to it on his days off.

i dont know what to do and my da's going to die because of it.

I feel the same why about my sis she's 18 and has high bp, But no matter what I say to her to stop smoking and get my exercise she just shrugs her shoulders. She's not ready to make the commitment to get healthy yet and there is nothing you can do to make them just support them in the little changes they make! I'm hoping my sis will be inspired by my losing weight to want to lose some too! But maybe just throw out the extra food no point in encouraging your dad in his unhealthy habits! I'm sure it'll hit him someday soon that he feels unhealthy and wants to change. Try not to worry I know it must be had though!
