Gentleness

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Gentleness has melted many a hardened heart, warming away the numbness, giving love a brand new start.

Gentleness brings comfort, like a soft summer rain, cradling each weary child from the hunger and the pain.

Gentleness smiles upon those who try to meet every challenge in the path without bowing to defeat.

Gentleness comes to nurture those who have forgotten how to sing, and with loving arms encircles their lives with healing dreams.

Gentleness walks a Sacred Path tenderly through the years, comforting every soul in need, and through caring, dries their tears.

To me it is easy to give gentleness to others when there are so many needing and even demanding it, yet so hard to find the time to nurture one's self. I have not gone into my meditation room since my best friend died. Maybe it is time.

You have given me an answer. I was thinking how to say "Don't beat yourself up" In a positive way.. So now I am saying Be Gentle with yourself. Thanks for giving me the words.

One thing the Dalai Lama was shocked at in the book on Destructive emotions is how HARSH westerners are on themselves. So I immediately thought. HOW do we manage to be gentle to ourselves? If this is yours that would be something wise to add.

Hi PWWWDancr, I liked this verse alot. Was it something you read or did it come straight from your heart because you have experienced something hard? Sometimes I just like to ask people why they write a entry that I can't quite figure out fits in a certain space. Sorry if I ask a very personal question, but I feel if I don't ask questions one never learns or grows as a person.
