Something's shifted

I have decided to make this a journey to fitness as well as getting small in size.

during the first few months whilst my weight is still quite high. I am going to concentrate on walking and eventually get to running and other cardiovascular exercises I love.

I gave my bicycle away. it hurt my bum too much to ride it and I just gave it to a guy who really needed it.

So instead of being all focused on my food, now I am going to focus on my fitness progress too. I know how I used to enjoy doing that. I will go back to being that way again .

hopefully soon I will start running again woohoo. I used to love the way it made me feel. why on earth did I slack off?

    ICANIWILL1... one of your posts on SP Cafe caught my attention and made me laugh, so I was glancing at your page. I wanted to share with you that someone told me that losing the weight in the beginning would help me with my goals of becoming more fit. She was right, as I've lost weight, I'm down by 28 lbs now, the fitness part has become the really fun part. It wasn't fun in the beginning, but it's because I was just too heavy to enjoy it. But now it's kind of in reverse, I watch what I eat because I enjoy increasing the difficulty/challenge of my fitness activities pent preparing my food also soothes the emotion that's driving me to eat. I've also found, for me, that the time spent in preparing the food also soothes the emotion that drives me to eat it..! So, keep up the good work.. you are definately on the right path!

    I joined SP the same time you did, about a year ago. I didn't make any downward progress for the first 11 months; I did halt my increasing weight gain. Now I'm in this for real, and I'm trying to get as involved as possible. Poking around our "Clas of.." page I saw your blog entry. I am happy to hear something in you has shifted. I feel similarily. I'm kind of sorry that you gave your bike away, but it sounds like you gave it to someone who will really appreciate it & it sounds like it wasn't comfy for you anyway. (I am kind of sorry b/c I love my bike, just bought it in the fall, and can't imagine parting with it.)

    Best of luck to you. I am asking myself the same question - "why oh why did I slack off?" If, no WHEN, I get to my goal weight, I am NOT going to let myself balloon up again.
