Apparently shovelling snow doesn't get you very many steps! I started with the front porch, steps and front walk & kept on until I had done the entire block. I can't believe I did it all in an hour. Started shovelling with 16183 steps and now I'm at 19042. My arms feel like they've had a workout tho and they need it! Looking north towards downtown before & after. The pastor next door came out just as I was finishing the northern section of the block. He was going to do it in the morning but heard me & came to help. I told him there was more coming so save his energy for morning cuz I'll be out walking! Looking south before and after. That is the larger portion of the block...got it done!Dressed for success!Got my steps started - arrived home at 8:33 with......131 active minutes and burned 722 calories - before 9am!! So far I've only had two glasses of water & I'm still making up my mind what to have for breakfast. If I do this two more times....I'll be over my 40K step goal for today!! Beautiful sunrise and looks like it's going to be a beautiful day.Now for breakfast, two eggs scrambled with dried chives and cooked around a sausage patty with a hashbrown on the side. Add a bit of fry sauce (since I didn't use any butter or oil) and down the hatch!! I was feeling hungry for some odd reason!!So far, so good!! 1340 in 1600 out and over the 33K mark with another walk happening in a couple of hours. I am going to make 40K steps today even tho I'm yawning my head off right now. Time to unload the draining rack and get on with doing the supper dishes. So far, so good!! 1340 in 1600 out and over the 33K mark with another walk happening in a couple of hours. I was also told I was crazy, OCD and completely over the top. I ignored them and persevered - got my 35k hiking boot badge at 9:14.Hit 40,501 at 9:42 and earned my cleats badge. This should be my best week as well - hitting my goals:) Now I'm feeling very tired, I've burnt way more than I've eaten and I'm way below my calories but I'm too tired to eat any more. Time for bed - my eyes are sliding shut as I type. Have a great day tomorrow and happy sparking.Forgot I need to track - it's the end of week 4 of the challenge. Over 20 miles today!!I managed to squeeze four walks in today and walk #3 coincided with the setting sun as I walked back to town. Got in 23321 so hopefully my brain will stop churning soon and I can get to sleep. I didn't get everything done at work so tomorrow morning is a 5:15 start to get my morning walk in. I need to shut off now if I'm going to meet it so happy Thursday and happy Sparking to you all!I just came in from my last walk of the day - not too cold but it's started snowing again and feels really damp. Rosy cheeks and a bad case of hoodie head!! The joys of long frizzy hair - my hairband came out mid walk so it's everywhere. I could have kept walking for another hour but have an early start tomorrow so I'll do it then instead;). Have a good night all and see if you can beat me tomorrow!! I only did 21224 steps today so I'm sure you can:)Hit the Boxing Day sales yesterday and found a wonderfully warm toque and mitten set that I actually like for less than the original price of the toque alone. I just went for a walk and for once wasn't fighting to keep my ears covered and warm. Love the ginormous pompom on top too;)Last walk of 2017 with my cousin. She's back in SW Ontario where we've sent our deep freeze off to. -35C/-31F with the windchill. Multiple layers and neck protection - we had a beautiful walk until the wind was in our faces & then decided frostbite was not something we wanted. Happy 2018!!choc dipped shortbreadwhite choc lemon cream cheese iced shortbreadHappy birthday MomAmazing what a difference a few hours and a one hour walk can do! I still kind of have the punched in the eyes look but way more colour and energy. Victory is mine - 10713 steps including my trip to the grocery store. Have a good night and happy Sparking tomorrow;)Half my supper (steamed broccoli, baked salmon and baked potato) became tomorrow's lunch. I just went for a late walk & it's warmed up to -4C/25F with crystal clear skies and brilliant stars. Walking at night is my favourite time, peaceful, quiet and no one to disturb my thoughts. Have a good night all and keep your spark alive tomorrow:)Tavia Rose3 days oldI haven't been doing very well the last few weeks so I'm posting now to remind myself where I am now.Why oh why is it so hard for me to get my protein goal? It's almost to where it should be but I'm still below my calories for the day although barely. Another glass of water along with my yogurt & egg (already tracked) and I'm heading for the pillow. Today felt extra long though I got up later than usual. Have to be up at 5 tomorrow so it's time for me to close down for tonight. Have a good night all and happy sparkling;)!Back home from walk #2 - moonlit and a bit slick but still managed to get over the 15k mark even tho I didn't do my afternoon walk. Another cold crisp night at -23C but thankfully not windy. Tired out now and ready for bed.Out for my afternoon walk....getting brainfreeze from the northeast wind!Headed for the hillsMy morning view as I walk out my front door.Very windy! It wasn't easy getting going this morning but I'm glad I did! 0F/-18C and foggy makes for a frosty winter wonderland!Even the bench was covered in a fine layer of frost. It's International Woman's Day - spark on Spark Women!!I recently posted about my new Mukluks - they are amazingly warm and comfy - like walking in slippers!! In buying Manitobah Mukluks, I supported a Canadian aboriginal owned company that makes a quality & comfortable boot. They're so much warmer and easier to walk in than my old pair of knockoffs - if you live through long, cold & snowy winters, I recommend them! Here they are & I'm headed for Nod. Good night all:)Snuggle timeAnother hot smoky day compliments of BC & West coast fires. They say another 140 fires ignited over the weekend in BC from lightning strikes. Tomorrow is supposed to be just as bad - hopefully no migraine tomorrow tho! The sun was just a fireball today trying to cut through the haze.I didn't get my 10K steps in but at least made it over the 7K mark. Kept in range and drank lots of water trying to break the migraine. Cherries & blueberries along with strong coffee for my evening snack - no, drinking coffee at night doesn't affect how I sleep - lucky me!;) My sister can't even drink it after lunch or she doesn't sleep all night. I only did one walk & took this picture of the sun going down on my way out the door. Have a good night all & have a safe happy day tomorrow!Bought my own birthday cake;)Knew I was in for it when the guy behind me was coughing & sneezing before we left the gate! 3 1/2 hours of it pretty much means you are sunk! Now my head is totally stuffed up but I still managed to do over 14k steps😠which was badly needed. Going home for a week is great but I didn't get my normal exercise in. Still worth it to get to see all my family again! Especially this little darling! She's still tiny but into everthubgeOnly one left to go green! Another walk after supper and that should do it! Roasted mushroom & garlic pizza and squash, kale & beet flat bread for supper. Just hasn't synced calories to my Fitbit yet. Just cuz you feel like rubbish doesn't mean you can't hit your targets ;)Only one left to go green! Another walk after supper and that should do it! Just cuz you feel like rubbish doesn't mean you can't hit your targets ;)A beautiful prairie sunset to finish off my dayThe view across Kin Coulee towards Saamis Teepee where my car was parked. I had just finished one hill and was headed back down to tackle the other one back to my car. This is my go-to spot when I go for groceries. The only way I get hills with town being totally flat.10 hours later and 7/11 degrees colder! Out for my morning wake up walk! Hopefully I'll be more alert today than I was yesterday. It was a beautiful sunrise walking east and then turning west I had a terrific view of an incredible moon setting. Have a terrific Thursday Sparkers - hope yours is a bit warmer tho!;)Nile River - walked the distance of the longest river in the world!!
