Winter veg garden up and going. Seeds in. Now just need some patience. #functionalfitness
How is your day going?
Dropping off some meals to mum who is in lockdown. She is in a retirement village and only one person is allowed to bring supplies once a week. I can take her out locally for a short walk, which she relishes. Here in Australia all playgrounds are closed. No more than 2 people are allowed to meet up indoors or outdoors unless you are members of same household. Only allowed to go out, preferably only once a week, to get supplies. We are all doing our bit. Thinking of all those who are suffering fi![See this image larger]()

More beans! Favourite cafe made up this for me today. #happydance #vegan #beanqueen
BEANS BEANS BEANS
Healthy comfort food, beautiful friend, winter sunshine, and a day out in the mountains. Totally content. What did you do for your mental health today?

I adapted our favourite spring roll recipe so they are now baked in oven and have no added oil. Used fresh shitake and fresh veg. Sauce is cooked down mango, chillies and lemongrass instead of store-bought sweet chilli sauce. We ate them up after school. Yum! #vegankids

Found a wonderful rustic and healthy japanese restaurant who have a 90% vegan, whole food, shareable, 'gentle' portions menu. New fave place and perfect for my ultra-runner vegan brother and I. Sorry for all these posts! Catching up with my mojo after a spark absence. Literally and figuratively. # fattofit #grit #eatplants
Believe in yourself. What does that even mean?
For me ... that I can do this for 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 5 hours... - regardless of fear, pain, tedium, or shame. #fattofit #eatplants #grit
Lunch - slow cooked spicy beans, sourdough, coffee and a good book. Cheers for Sundays!
Ok... today was going to be a 10km walk. I set my sights a little high having been in bed for most of the last month, ill.
So, accompanied by a naughty dog (I thought taking Pluto would help me stay motivated but unfortunately this gorgeous, friendly canine teenager wanted to smell every smell and play with every other doggie or human he came across!) I plodded down to the library and up (literally - hilly area!) home again. These stats show only one way - so it took me nearly 2hours to do the l
Doing well today.
Talking a virtual walk around Mull Scotland, using my wonderful new find, World Walking app! Has given me new motivation! (It is an app that can map your own walk, or collects your steps/mileage and adds to one of the many famous walks around the world - cool! Oh and I'm not being sponsored - just in love with the app!)
Exhale...
Scorcher in Melbourne today 40C /104F...so what does one do but invite everyone for parents vs kids volleyball in the pool!
Eating out healthy - Saturday night I introduced my friend to my favourite vegan restaurant. We shared 3 dishes - 'nachos' and green salad and finished off with a delicious raw caramel slice.
"They look weird, Mama - all that purple and orange"
"I DON'T CARE LOOK LOOK MY SHOES ARE ALL BAGGY NOW!"
Losing weight rocks. Loose clothes rock.
Not far, but the alternative was staying in bed, so, yay!
Mango spinach salad and lentil apricot salad. Nom!
Tweaking the plan...
Definitely.

Crusoe's Hashtag Breakfast! (Well he thought it was funny) Herb-crusted tofu sticks, avocado on ciabatta, and a raw mango peach compote.
Buckwheat soba, tofu and vegetables. Mindfully made, one pot simple Sunday night dinner for Crusoe and I. I cleaned and decluttered the kitchen today and that action made SO much difference to how I thought about and prepared this meal. (Probs would have made peanut butter sandwiches otherwise)
After a long run. Snooze Time!
Watch out!
While The puppy was taking me for a run, I found banana crates and a funky bin left out for hard rubbish collection (ie free for taking) perfect for the new art studio! Sweat and art obviously go together! #recycle
Be rebellious.
Today I was so creative! Made raw, cane-sugar free fruit 'jams' for yummy waffles and pancakes! (From my frozen blackberries and mangoes left over from an abundant summer) 1.blackberries, currants and cinnamon 2. Mangoes, peaches, cinnamon and vanilla bean. A small amount of maple syrup in each. Keeps in fridge around 3 days or maybe doesn't make it to the fridge! Tomorrow I'm just going to have the blackberry one with my homemade granola and some coconut yoghurt.
Getting me some muscle.
Taught the kid's art class then everyone ate together (vegan thai green curry) - Health. Community. #love
Reminder to self
My favourite monthly grocery visit down the line. Most excited because now I have all my ingredients for some brilliant vegan sweet potato pancakes for this weekend!
Taking some time-out. Half hour of bliss reading and a perfect cold-drip coffee.
Summer nights. Crusoe has brought me eucalyptus and lemon myrtle leaves to crush, and inhale, for my cold. Love this boy.
New cookbook ordered - cant wait.
Just taught Crusoe how to use the new kettle. He brings his sick mama a mug of peppermint tea (win), a brilliant book (don't tell him I just finished it), and my glasses. My day is complete.
Mantra for today
Breakfast and a board game! Making Monday mornings now healthy AND fun!

went for a walk!

There is a very simple little top waiting for me to fit into it...
Visual Motivator - because I want to feel great in whatever clothes I choose to wear.

Raw garlic, organic olive oil, salt, & a plate of toasted sourdough. Weekly treat for Crusoe & I.

Two main motivations: My life, and his.

Crusoe has the early-morning-just-waking-up-stares. I am just enjoying the cuddle.
