Go me! Bad thing about being self-employed: long hours. Good thing about being self-employed: I can approve my own walking desk. Gained a pound or two in my overall trend of losing -- and I'm fine with it, because I gained 7 pounds muscle and lost 5 pounds of fat. I can live with that! Did my first-ever obstacle course race yesterday and handled it way better than I'd feared. So much fun! I've lost 15 pounds, cut 4 inches off my waist and 2 inches off my hips, dropped my resting heart rate by 10 BPM, and completed my first two obstacle course races and signed up for a third. And last night I was asked, "Is that diet doing anything for you?" Take-home message: You're not doing this for anyone else. Don't let someone else's reaction be your barometer of success. You're doing this for your own goals. Tasted and quit my dessert at faculty dinner tonight. I will be on a multi-day mountain hike in a couple of months, and I don't want to carry more weight than I have to. So I made myself a little reminder for my kettlebell workout. Traditional before/after selfie at the #IndyMilers 3 mile race today. I kept my miles under 15 minutes, which is pretty good for walking. Lots of hills on my hike today! I went on a ten day cruise and lost two pounds. Still plenty to go, but I am proud of that!
