Trying my best to take myself with my camera. Not too bad.

This is pretty much what I look now even though I was at 182 pounds in the photo. I weigh 199 pounds now. The shirt is a 2XL and the 16W denim capris. Its an outfit I love to wear. I should of been in a smaller size in this photo instead of what I was wearing in this. I am going to show the doctor when I see him in 12 days.
The two little ones with my dad are a couple of reasons why I am trying to lose weight. 5 year old Katelynn and almost 23 months old Alexis. Alexis was 18 months old in the photo. I want to get healthy to chase after them and live to see them grow up. I love these two even though they live in Minnesota and I'm in Illinois.
Made the hat for myself. The color is called Bikini. I finished it up this past Wednesday (my 40th birthday) and I have been getting a lot of compliments on it. I am going to make myself another one is a light blue color to see what it looks like in a solid color.
I made myself another hat like my multicolored hat but this one is light blue. Had to use a smaller crochet hook and do less rows on the body of the hat. Everyone likes it. I do too. I might do another hat but get another skein of a multicolored yarn to do it in.
Here's the picture I tried to post earlier. Its the dress at Target. Originally it was $24.99 and got it for $7.48. Sorry that you can't see the boots but they do go great with dress.
In Peoria for a check up for dad on his heart. Since we had time when we got to town, looked for the place where my appointment is at on Wednesday.
My dad holding his great grandson Scott 3 days ago.
My soup that I have made with a leftover roast that I fixed in the crock pot last weekend. Still have some of the leftover roast to make more soup. Might do that before I go for my mammogram today.
My cat does this all the time.
My supper. Pork veggie soup.
Made a roast chicken late last week for the first time and it turned out great. Never did it until then. I sprayed it with canola oil and sprinkled Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper on it. Finished it for lunch yesterday. Got another chicken on Monday to do it again when I have company.
These cookies are delicious and easy to make. Pumpkin spice cookies. A box of spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin puree is all you need to make them. Spoon them onto cookie sheets and bake them at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Sorry that they look dark but it's the light from the stove hood.
I have a tree now. A friend of mine who I got my dog from bought me the tee, star, ornaments and skirt for me. She was going in for work and had more dog food for my dog when she got this.
I made this last night for supper. Its cross between lasagna and Chicken Parmesan. There is no pasta in the dish. I got some thinly sliced chicken breasts from the food pantry on Wednesday and that's what I used as the pasta. I layered it like a lasagna but it tastes like lasagna and Chicken Parmesan. I need to work on it though. The sauce needs to be thicker and more meat in it. It was my first time in making it this way. It took care of my craving of the 2 dishes.
Fixed a version of a McDonald's sandwich last night in a Sloppy Joe. The Big Mac. It was good but paid the price for eating it. It was too much on certain things like calories and sodium. It's an occasional treat to have. It was my first time in making it. Might try it another time when I have company over.
This was breakfast yesterday. There are different names for it but my mom called it eggs in nests. Tried it the other day and it turned out great so I made it again yesterday for breakfast.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there especially the pet moms like me.
I made this smoothie yesterday. Its chocolate protein powder, frozen strawberries, a whole banana and milk. I was craving something cold and sweet and this hit the spot.
Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. I am missing mine right now. This is the 2nd one that I am celebrating without him.
Tuesday I made mini lasagna cups. Instead of using lasagna noodles and ricotta cheese in separate layers, I used cheese ravioli. The recipe came from a classmate of mine from high school. You layer it like you do in a 9 by 13 inch cake pan but in a muffin tin. Sauce, ravioli, sauce, ravioli, sauce and top with mozzarella cheese. You bake it for 15 to 20 minutes at 375 degrees. It tastes just like the regular version of the lasagna but it's smaller than that. Better portion size.
This is the muffin tin with the mini lasagna cups in it. The classmate of mine from high school used a bigger pan and bigger ravioli for hers.
Here's the temperature in my town.
Went to a graduation party last night for a neighbors' daughter who graduated from high school this year. I didn't walk too far from my apartment to the party. This is the healthier options of the food. The other was tortilla chips and cheese dip. I ate the fruit and vegetables while fixing my tuna bacon pasta salad last night. I ate the cupcake later on. The water is still in the fridge.
Made this yesterday. Pork tenderloin with zucchini, yellow squash, and onions with real mashed potatoes. All of the food was gotten from 2 food pantries.
My mini frittatas from yesterday for breakfast. It has leftover veggies from the day before, scrambled eggs and cheese. I should have left them in a while longer because they were still loose. But they were good. I had a couple of pieces of toast with them.
I was hungry for a BLT so I made one. I didn't leave the bacon in strips. I cut it up and made them into bite size pieces. It was good.
This might not look healthy but it was my only option to get rid of a few things. Ramen noodles, the bacon from lunch and scrambled eggs mixture. It was okay but it will be a rare thing to have.
I have been suffering from anxiety and depression for a long time but just admitted to it here recently. To help me overcome them, crocheting and knitting has helped me. This is a crocheted afghan that I finished earlier this week that took me over a month to make. I am on another one right now. It helps me not to eat anything that I need to. I feel much better after working on something like this.
My first attempt in making homemade zucchini bread. I made it yesterday morning but didn't get to taste it until this morning. I don't usually like other people's quick bread because somehow it doesn't taste good. Mine tastes great.
Made homemade baked mozzarella sticks last night for supper. They were good but they were cold by the time I got to eat them. I had them in the oven for 30 minutes. The next time I am going to leave them in for 15 minutes and see what happens. I used string cheese.
My supper last night. Canned chicken some leftover bacon bits with blackberries and almonds. And yogurt on the side. Wasn't too hungry last night and not in the mood to fix something heavy.
I don't have pasta too much but I made goulash and garlic bread yesterday. I used lean Italian seasoned ground turkey for the meat. I put it in the crockpot yesterday morning and it was supper when I ate it. I am going to do it more often than on the stove because the sauce soaks into the pasta better. I enjoyed it.
Fixed alfredo sauce and penne pasta for supper tonight. I have been cutting back on pasta here lately. I didn't have any Fettuccine pasta so that's why I fixed penne.
I made chicken meatball subs last night. I had everything except for the rolls and onions. I got the chicken meatballs, sauce and cheese from the food pantry that I get from on Thursdays. I had only one last night. The rest I wrapped up in foil. 2 of them went to a friend who works at the coffee shop and the rest are in the freezer. Later on I am going to make Sloppy Joes.
Happy Veteran's Day to all the vets who have served and to the ones who are serving. My dad served in the Army from 1954 to 1957 (the picture was taken in 1956 when he was 20) and the Air Force from 1960 to 1977 (months before I was born). He got full military rights when we had his service last year.
Finally finished this afghan yesterday afternoon. It took me a little bit over 2 months to make. I am now getting the yarn ready for what I call fall into winter afghan. The middle will have fall colors and the outside will have winter colors. I will post pics of the afghan when I am done with it.
I crochet to help curve my appetite and avoid overeating. I finished one afghan a couple of days ago and today I will work on another afghan. It took me a while to get the yarn that I am going to use ready for it. It is going to have fall colors and winter colors on it. I call it fall into winter afghan. I will post a picture of it when I am done.
I know that this sandwich is a little bit high on fat and calories but I didn't have much of it. It's a chicken strip melt. I had some leftover chicken strips from the day before and I wanted have something different. The only problem was that I burned the other piece of bread while making the sandwich. But it didn't affect the taste of it.
Got my cat Eva this gingerbread house with a scratching pad inside. I ordered it from Chewy a week ago and she loves it. She even sleeps in it at night. I have to give her something to thank her for being there for me with my fibromyalgia and depression.
Got myself an early birthday gift since its tomorrow. It's a door hanger. A friend who owns a sweet and stone boutique and she sells stuff that is donated to her. And she bakes stuff. She had this hanger for $15. It's a Samsonite hanger. I have it on my bedroom door since its looks great on it. The other doors in my apartment are brown.

This is my birthday cake that I got on my birthday. The cake is gluten free. It was good and a little dry. The gal who set up the social distancing type party at the pizza place made it and it was the only kind of cake that she had on hand.
Me and my friends at the pizza place here in town this past Sunday on my birthday. I am the one in the hat. The one with the mask is the one that created the party and the other gal is her tenant and my friend. The gal in the mask was one of my teachers in school but now sells insurance. Her husband was the guy that dad and I picked up car parts for here in town. I enjoyed this night. The pizza is better here than the big chain restaurants.
I am thinking about making this either today or this weekend. I got it yesterday in my food pantry box. I haven't had a torte or made one before. At least it's a gluten free dessert. I have been wanting this kind of dessert for a while and now I do.
I have been crocheting here lately and I had cinnamon apple spice tea in the mug while I was working on an afghan that I have been working on for about 2 months.
I was needing some lemon ginger tea and a friend of mine brought me this. The coffee shop has this brand and flavor so I know that its good. I was having a sore throat and congestion so I was needing this. I might have some more later on today.
Made Ham and Swiss sliders last night for supper and this is how they turned out. They were good but burnt. I cut off 3 of them but could only eat 2 of them. The rest are in the trash. I had the oven at 400°F for 30 minutes. I used Hawaiian sweet rolls. I am trying to learn new meal ideas. The next time I am going to put them on a lower temperature for less time.
This was dessert last night. Raspberry chocolate torte. It is gluten free dessert and it is by Godiva. My friend thinks that the chocolate is the dark chocolate kind. I have not tried it yet.
I got this water bottle from Walmart yesterday when I went shopping with a friend. I already drank it once and I am on the 2nd round with it. I might end up drinking out of this a couple more times before I go to bed tonight. It's a 50oz bottle so its about 1.5L bottle. I love it.
I gave myself a manicure the other day. The picture was taken after I did it. They look a lot better now than they do in the picture. The color is called Choose Hope and the money from buying these go towards breast cancer research. I have another set that looks like this in purple called Brave and Beautiful and its for epilepsy research.
It's a hot tea type of day. This is the tea that I am drinking right now and it is delicious. It is a loose leaf tea. Earl Grey was my late mom's favorite tea and now its mine. I got this a week ago Monday at a HyVee. You might get it some other grocery stores but where I got it is the only place that I have seen it at. I fix it the same way that my mom fixed hers. Creamer and sweetener.
A friend of mine gave me the hoodie yesterday. She left it with a friend who works at the coffee shop for me to pick up since she had to go to work as a substitute teacher. The yellow made her think of my favorite NFL team.
A friend of mine gave me the hoodie this week. I love yellow but just wish that there was a green in with it to break up the yellow.
My current manicure. Its called Brave and Beautiful. This was about 2 weeks ago when I took the picture when I did them. I will change it up one of these days to something else.
Gave myself a manicure yesterday with some Color Street nail polish strips. On my thumb, ring finger and pinky its Light Year and on my index finger and middle finger its Dark Matter. I needed a change up from the Brave and Beautiful set that I had on. I should be changing what I have on some time next month. What I have on lasts about 2 weeks.
Gave myself a manicure 2 days ago. The colors are Light Year and Dark Matter. Love the combination of the 2 colors.
My lunch yesterday. NY strip steak, pink salmon fillet, brown rice, fresh green beans and radishes. The only thing that I could not finish was the steak. I am not use in fixing that cut of meat. I didn't cook it right. It was too tough and still a little bit too pink for my taste. But the meal helped with my craving for surf and turf.
I gave myself a manicure yesterday afternoon. The color is called 1 in 4. The proceeds from the sale of the strips will go towards domestic violence. The name of the color statistics of the amount of women who are going through the violence.
I might make this meal again one of these days. The only thing is that I will change the turf part. The NY strip steak wasn't what I thought that it would be. I am going to get something tender and less expensive.
