I'm losing half my body weight, the worst half, the half that is fat.

It's important to me to keep the pressure off. I weigh daily, but I don't stress and scream and swear if the number isn't down. This is truly a lifestyle change for me, it has to be. And if my lifestyle is one of health--moderate amounts of healthy, natural foods and exercise which constantly challenges my body to get stronger--the weight will come off when it's ready. I just have to be consistent and make good decisions day to day.

I feel so much better--more energy, my body moves more easily, I can bend over and tie my shoes!! I actually enjoy working out (especially riding the bike) and miss it when I skip for too long. I've become stronger and more flexible. What's not to like???

My Goals:
15% of my start weight gone!!!! Lost 44 pounds so far. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

176 pounds of weight off my knees! They are so grateful. I've lowered my chances of diabetes, too.

Now on to the 20% lost goal! I can do this!

My Program:
Eating sensibly...increase fruits and vegetables, no sugar, low fat, high fiber.

Lots and lots of exercise...it all counts for me. Pilates, water yoga, cardio (love that elliptical!), water aerobics and strength training. Plus, biking!!!! I stick to low or no impact, for the sake of the knees.

Personal Information:
I am an artist, a wife, and a mother. I've been overweight to a greater or lesser degree for all my adult life. I've been pretty healthy, low blood pressure, low cholesterol, etc. However, my joints have started to give me trouble. I've long since lost the illusion of getting down to 105 pounds, but I do want to be strong and healthy and not have trouble walking. So that is my goal. Less about the weight lost than the health and strength gained.

    Kelly, Hummm... nah, I wouldn't pay $5 to go into Ernie biggs if I wasn't going to stay quite awhile... I don't blame you... but sometime maybe we can get together with our bo's and go together.. IT is definitely worth it!

    Next week will be fine. I think Bekah and I may go this week for a short jaunt but depends on money, I think... There is so much to do and so little time. Thanksgiving is fast approaching... YIKES! Hard to believe.

    As far as a reward for the 65 lbs. off and early? Hummm.. guess I ate a couple of cookies today so that may have to suffice.. I figure with a new ipod and a new wii/wii fit I don't really need anything else right now....

    It's good though... I worked 10 tennis games and 3 games of bowling tonight for a workout of 30 minutes... Not a bad thing... I'll watch the rest of the week and see what happens!!

    Hummm... I have been paying attention... maybe that's why I like you so much!!!! I normally just ride around Republic where I live. I do have a bike rack (never out of the box!) though so I could bring my bike in sometimes... and there is NO way I'll be able to do 22 miles!!

    I'll probably be pretty much out of the loop while I am in Indy.. just so you know! I'll holler at you when I get back!

    I know!! I'm so excited... and still a bit watery eyed and apprehensive... I don't make decisions well so this one was pretty quickly made... I am sure it will be a blast and I'll have lots of pics on my return!!

    I'll share the pics!! AND we have to get together when I get back.. oh, belly dancing is Tuesday, 10/7 -- you going??
