I am on a journey to find a healthier me. I look in the mirror and it looks like I'm wearing a fat-suit. I don't have issues with self-esteem. I know how valuable I am to my family and friends. I am overweight and need to fix that before I've done permanent damage to my heart and other organs. My biggest hurdle is my gigantic lazy bone. I like sitting on my rear and watching TV or surfing the web. It takes hard work to get up and move. But...I'm a survivor, a fighter, and an optimist. I'm definitely not a quitter.

My Goals:
My immediate goals:

~Stick to an exercise schedule

~Drink 12 8-ounce glasses of water daily

~Take a multivitamin and my prescribed medications

~Avoid white potatoes (my Kryptonite)

~Lose 25 pounds

My Program:
I want to lose 2 lbs per week, that means that I have to have a calorie deficit of 7000 each week (or an average of 1000 each day). To do this, I will track what I eat and what I burn.

My exercise schedule is 30 minutes, 5 days each week. I don't have a workout routine, and am not sure if I want one.

I enjoy the 1-mile running trainer on my iPhone. I've never made it to run the full mile, but I've gotten close and loved doing it.

At this point, my goal is to just not quit. Finish my workout. Finish my class. Track all of my foods. Just don't give up.

My name is Kristel, I'm 32 and have been married for 14 years. We have three daughters (currently ages 14, 12, and 11).

I've been diagnosed as having PCOS and being Insulin Resistant. My father and maternal grandmother had Type II Diabetes. I'm trying hard to do a U-turn so that I don't follow them in that path.
