I'm 31 year old single mom to one beautiful little girl who is long and lean. I want to be a good example to her so she can remain that way and never battler her weight like I have had to do. I'm working to teach her healthy eating habits. I realized so much how they look to you for how to live life when I noticed my then 2 year old biting her nails(as I did for nearly 25 years). I stopped within a week and have not started back up since(5 years). She still does it sometimes but has slowed and I'm hopeful she will stop. I have recently noticed the same thing with her snacking habits. While she LOVES her veggies especially broccoli and carrots and eats pretty balance meals. She will snack on junk food like I grew up learning to do, which is you keep on snacking. I don't want to be the cause of her having any weight problems later in life.

I have struggled with my weight since junior high school. Was also a little chubby in my later Elementary school days too but not really overweight much until 8th grade. I managed to lose some weight in late high school by taking on a walk/job program and had a gym membership. I stopped going because I moved and didn't join a new gym.

I have had success with Weight Watchers in the past but had to stop meetings when I was working 40 hours and attending school full time. I gained it back slowly as I met my daughter's father. 20 lbs before I got pregnant then 40 more lbs while pregnant. I've struggled to get back under that weight since but honestly until this year have not done and honest program I could stick to. 2011 is a time for change for me. I'm embracing it and wish to lose 100 lbs this year. A hefty aspiration, I know but I also know with work I CAN do it.

I've made the decision to break the bad habits slowly by building new good habits and the first needs to be exercise. I'm going to take this on slowly this time. Just exercise. I won't worry about journaling food until the exercise is going at a steady habit. This will make the burn go even better when I start working with food.
