Hi, I live in Utah, in the United States. Sparkpeople is great! It helps me to collaborate with others to be successful in dieting. (Like everything in my life, I suppose.) I like to ride a stationary bike, garden, hike, read, learn, and go to the gym. I also do genealogy, keep a journal and actively seek more personal virtue and spiritual understanding. I grew up in Ohio and enjoy visiting relatives in that area. As a career, I teach children with mild/moderate learning disabilities in public school, which I enjoy immensely. My family is involved with music, scouting, churchwork, and technology. (My son wants a career in bioinformatics--using computers to solve medical problems.)

My Goals:
I want to lose 15 pounds, then reevaluate where I am.

My Program:
I spend about 1.5 hours 6 days per week doing cardio. I also try to limit my calories to about 2000 per day.

Personal Information:
I have been dieting since I was 12. As I have struggled with my weight , I have learned a lot about myself and what I need to do to lose weight and keep it off. Ironically, I was the largest of my siblings growing up, but now I am the smallest. I weigh about 55 pounds less than my all-time high, but I have gained 18 pounds with menopause and whatever other causes. I want to lose 15 pounds and reevaluate at that point.

Other Information:
I supplement my diet daily with coconut oil (for its antibiotic, antifungal, and antiviral benefits. It also raises HDL, thus lowering risk of heart disease) and turmeric (for its benefits in preventing and counteracting arthritis problems).
