I've struggled with my weight as far back as I can remember. Trust me when I say I've been there and done that when it comes to dieting and excercise. I don't think I have enough fingers to count the number of times I've gotten myself back into shape only to let things get back out of control. Add to that 2 pregnancies and that got me to the most I've ever weighed in my life.

It was definitely time to take back my life. Between May 2006 and March 2007 I was able to shed 30 pounds, but life just was and slowly 5 lbs. crept back on.

This time I am approaching things with a completely different attitude. While I definitely want to get healthy for myself, I REALLY want to do it for my girls. This time I am focusing not so much on my weight loss but more so on establishing a healthy lifestyle. More than anything I want to be a good role model for the girls when it comes to healthy eating and fitness, and I'm hoping that SP will give me all that I need to make it happen.

I reached my goal weight of 115 lbs right before the holidays. I tried to maintain my healthy habits while I was out of town and quickly learned that you really do need both exercise and proper eating to maintain. Back came 5 lbs. I am now in the process of re-establishing the healthy habits that were so much a part of my daily life before they were pushed to the side by Christmas cookies and other holiday treats. It hasn't been easy...I think I have successfully fallen off the wagon 3 times since the beginning of January. But I WILL keep plugging away. There may be a couple of more bumps in the road, but that's all they will be....bumps. I know can do this....my 60+ lost pounds proves that.

I have also set some new goals for myself for the new year. Once I can heal the shin splints I started the new year out with, I plan on getting back into running. My first goal is to run at least one 5K every month from February through July. Then in August, if all is going well, I want to sign up for a 6 month training group for the 2009 Austin marathon. I would also like to drop my body fat percentage to somewhere between 18% and 20%. I'm not going to try to lose any more weight, although I won't be surprised if, with all the running, I lose a couple of extra pounds below my goal weight. My main goal, where my weight is concerned, is to maintain within a 5 lb range for the entire year. We'll see how it goes......

I currently live in Central Texas, although I grew up in Pennsylvania. I have been married to my wonderful husband Jeremy for 7 years and have 2 beautiful daughters - Madelyne (3 yrs) and Elisabeth (18 mos).

I love to scrapbook and play board games. I also love to read and am a HUGE fan of Harry Potter.
