Hi Yesibv, You CAN do this, because you are worth it. Just take it one day at a time. Make baby step changes in the beginning. Don't try to change everything at once. Identify your weaknesses and work on them. My journey has been very slow, but steady. I will soon have my 1 year anniversary with SparkPeople, and I am so glad that I've stuck with the program. Hey girl! Glad you have joined us here at the spark! You asked me what kind of changes I've made...I won't lie, I've made a lot. It does take dedication but if you want to lose the weight, you have all the motivation in the world. You just need to harvest that motivation.
As for eating, I try to make the caloric goal that spark set for me for the day. The diet stage Fast Break helps out a lot in the beginning. Record everything you eat! It's easy to search for things in their large nutrition database. I still eat some junk but I try to make sure my portions are cut down. I do not ever starve. I have good days and bad days, but as long as their are more good than bad, I am on the right track.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. The sooner you start this, the better. Some people I know lose around 5 pounds just from losing water weight. I cut out soda almost completely...before I was drinking about a 2 liter of coke everyday, now I barely touch the stuff. My body feels good because of this. I recently tried green tea too and it rocks.
Exercise is also vital! Strength training builds muscle which burns fat faster than, well, fat...Cardio helps jump up your metabolism.
I think the main thing is I try to eat 5 main times a day. Breakfast around 8 AM, a snack around 10:30 AM, lunch around 12:30 PM, a snack around 3:30 PM and then dinner around 6:00 PM. This keeps my metabolism constantly running.
Its a hard task, a long journey but I CANNOT EVEN EXPLAIN how much better you will feel, even after the first 10-20 pounds...my knees no longer crack, my bones don't creak, my energy has increased 10 fold and I have dropped 2 pant sizes in just 2 months! And this is all doing the healthy diet plan spark provides, no diet pills, no junk like that at all.
