Well I'm at it again. I signed up for the half-marathon for January 2018. In 2015 I completed three half-marathons in various cities. 2016 was not such a good year with physical and mental challenges. 2017 was successful... So I'm at it again. Looking forward to the challenge and really grateful for being back on track. I tell you this up and down thing has got to stop! I'm in it to win it!!!!! These marathons get me on track. Now if I could just do them year round I would be in great shape. Instead I slip until it's time to do the next one. This year seems to have been really tough. I need to update my pics, those pics are really old..

My Goals:
I'm really doing this for my health. I pay attention to numbers and at my last doctor's visit, my numbers were not good. My goal is to get the numbers back to a healthy point: weight, BMI, cholesterol and get out of the pre-diabetic range!

My Program:
If you eat it, you need to count it! Count the calories, count the carbs, count the sugar (in all its forms), count the exercise minutes and count the calories burned!

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. The weather in the Bay Area is NOT to my liking at all. I am happy to be in sunshine and look forward to the summer! I've carried extra pounds most of my adult life. I've tried just about every weight loss program short of having surgery. Now I'm doing it on my own with the help of SparkPeople and the support of a million plus Sparkers!

Other Information:
It IS possible to make positive lifestyle changes that become second nature. I am still a work in progress working toward my own perfection.

    Back from Holidays and ready to get back on track. Something in the healthy eating and exercise routine I established must of stuck as I continued it even on vacation. I did allow myself to indulge as well. Would you believe I lost a pound. Must of been the walking, swimming and hiking that I did. I was expecting to gain as I have always gained while on holidays. Now that I know it is possible to loose even if you are away from home once you figure out what works for you. I met my goals that I set when I first started with Spark People now I have set new goals. I want to see the 150's by June. I haven't been there since my kids where in grade school and their adults now.

    Well I hope all is going well. Getting healthy isn't easy it means we have to make time for ourselves but we are worth it. So here is to us. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Well we are almost into the middle of March. I hope you have had a couple of good weeks. I really haven't had any big losses but any loss is a loss. Slow and steady we will get healthier and fitter. emoticon
