A friend recommended SparkPeople to me as a way to start forming a healthier lifestyle a few years back. I've been away for a while, but I'm excited to get back to SparkPeople, especially now that there are mobile apps for tracking and recipes.

My Goals:
1. Get to goal weight this year.
2. Increase workouts from 30-45 min. to 60 min. sessions.
3. Get in shape for a 5K.
4. Increase energy.
5. Be the best version of myself, in every sense.
My Program:
1. Track food and exercise.
2. Workout 5-6 days a week, add weight training to cardio. At least 1-2 days yoga for strength and flexibility.
3. Cut back on sugar in diet.
Personal Information:
I'm Melissa. I'm 36 and I'm in California (or as my dad calls it, the land of fruits and nuts...I'm one of the nuts, I guess).
Other Information:
My favorite poem is "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost. My favorite book is "Illusions" by Richard Bach. I would list a favorite movie, but there are so many!!!
