Nameste' Is a Buddhist term. It means "The light in me acknowledges the light in you". In this case we'll amend it to be a "spark Nameste'" it means the "healthy being in me acknowledges the healthy being in you (and also the light)."

I have been coming to this site for many years now. In that time I have lost and regained the same 7 to 10 pounds again and again. (I usually fall off the wagon the first time the scale does not budge or goes the wrong direction.) I am at an age now where feeling good trumps looking good as a reason to exercise and eat better. I know that the positive steps outlined here lead to more energy and a feeling of health. Laziness and losing the will to cook meals at home is usually my downfall. I will come up with some "go to" easy snacks to get me through the "too lazy to cook" times.

Fitness Minutes: 10,308

My Goals:
Eat so I have more energy and better brain function.
Get some exercise every day. I need it for mental health.
Learn to accept that the scale will not consistently go down even if I am doing everything right. Be willing to stay strong and committed even when I am on weight loss hold.

My Program:
Yoga 2-3 times per week.
Walk at least 1 to 2 miles a day.
Eat healthy and track my food. Eat at home most of the time.
Write a daily gratitude blog in my little notebook.
Avoid nasty negative people. (eg. my sister on face book.)

Personal Information:
I had been in my correct weight range all my adult life. After remarrying 8 years ago- the weight gain started. For the first time in my life I dislike picutes of myself not because I'm too big of a cheeser (smile way too big), but because my lower half and bust look sooo big. Cameras don't lie- so time to get a grip on this eating thing!

Other Information:
I believe mindful eating is the key. The one time I lost a lot of weight in my life I was not actively dieting. I had made a lifestyle change and the weight just disappeared. (Of course that was a stress diet brought on by divorce.) That weight stayed off over a year- until my lifestyle changed again and all the weight plus some came back. (When I remarried and got happy.) One must of course have a permanent change of habits, and like all things in life awareness of what you are doing and why is the key.

    Thanks for the amazing compliment and comment on my photo! It's true that I never let my weight stop me from anything. The thing is I had that opposite problem that most women seem to have. I thought I was a lot smaller than I was...until I saw photos...until I saw myself in a video...until my butt was knocking things off of my work table in the pottery studio!
    Perhaps that was a good thing to not think of myself as so big, but it sure wasn't a good thing for my health.
    Thankfully I have been able to lose over 90 lbs and keep it off!

    And thanks for the compliment on my pottery work. That jug broke in transit from a show so I glued it back together and I got to keep it. Yay!!
