Hello from Pennsylvania, and thanks for visiting my Spark page! Over the years I've been up the scales, and I've been down them. What I hadn't been able to do is maintain my weight loss once achieved.

Now a one-year SP veteran, I have made some exciting changes. I've worked off 25 pounds, and learned a thing or two about eating properly. Portion control was my first real challenge - couldn't believe how many unnecessary carbs and calories I was consuming on a daily basis! I've developed a new appreciation of seasonal foods, and am having fun incorporating them into my every-day meals.

Although my exercise routine slipped by the wayside over the summer months, I know that as autumn arrives I will become more structured. I know this because I've discovered that exercising regularly makes me feel good and makes my clothes fit better. It's something I deserve to do for Me.

Those are two simple but very important areas of my life that I never really got a grip on before finding the wonderful network that is SparkPeople.

The information on this site is mind boggling -- it's only a "click" away, and it's FREE! Yet as empowering as the information is, the true value of this site is the community of Sparkers who "live" here. I was so surprised to receive helpful advice and encouragement from total strangers! And what a thrill it is to offer support and extend the hand of friendship to other SP in need.

Traveling this road to good health is turning out to be quite an exciting journey. I wish you the best!

My goal is to feel good about myself and keep up with my active family. Short-term goals are:
*Complete the 5K Your Way walk
*Drop a dress size by Christmas

Also, I'd love to take flight in a hot air balloon one fine day!

    Please feel free to share that post with anyone you would like to. No name was under it to give credit to. So I'll assume God put it there. I was thankful that I passed already for that day! It was probably the most moving billboard I have ever seen. It was outside some assisted living apartments. UntilLater.
