Hello :)

I'm a 24 year old travel agent from Edmonton, Alberta. I've been fairly active since I was about 18 with walking and some short bursts of going to the gym. For the last 3 years or so though, I've been kicking it into overdrive. I've now ran 3 10k races in the last 2 years and looking at my 4th in June. My first race was my personal record of 59:50 which I thought was awesome. Then came the next year and both those 2 races were just over an hour. Needless to say something has to give because your first timeracing sohuld never be your best.

I've had a few minor setbacks with a recent knee injury and general feelings of inadaquacy in terms of my body and what it can do. I have a lot of friends who run and go to the gym like crazy and they all seem able to do more than me. I do feel healthy and strong though and I know that's the most important thing.

The thing I need to work on at this point is my nutrition. I eat a lot. Like, A LOT. And it's not always the stuff that's good for me so I have to get my eating habits more in check. I've been doubling up on my water intake and rarely drinking anything else so that's a start. I sure wish Dairy Queen and McDonalds weren't so cheap though haha.

My Goals:
I want to feel good about myself and stop being so critical and relating myself to others.

-Run the Underwear Affair in June 2013 in 55 minutes or less

Run the Edmonton Derby half marathon in September 2013 in less than 2 hours 15 minutes

My Program:
distracting myself from constantly thinking about food by getting involved in more activities.
buying lots of bulk health items so I save money and calories.

Running 2-3 times per week with my long run on a day I have off

Going to the gym or running outside 5 times/week

Strength training class once/week

Walking my precious beagle 7 days/week for 20 minutes-1 hour
