Beating down the Blood Sugar!
I'm a young woman with a health condition that pre-disposes people to diabetes and heart disease. I have been diagnosed as insulin resistant, and though I was already living a healthy lifestyle, I am kicking it up a notch in an effort to preserve my health now and for the future. I have been diagnosed as insulin resistant, and though I was already living a healthy lifestyle, I am kicking it up a notch in an effort to preserve my health now and for the future. My goal is to lose 25 lbs AND keep it off for good! I am in the "overweight" category and I'm not only aiming to stay away from the "obese" category, but I want to get into the "normal" weight category based on my BMI. What's funny is I've never thought of myself as overweight, until recent doctor's appointments in which I was weighed and measured and charted in the overweight category. What our society calls normal or slightly chubby is actually overweight and what our society calls just a little overweight is actually obesity. Now that my eyes are open and I have so many tools to help me loose weight, I'm going for it! I am inspiring myself and I feel pretty darn proud of me. For the past 2 weeks I have gotten on my treadmill and jogged/power walked for 30 min. 5 days a week. I'm trying to work myself up to 1 hr. workouts over the next couple of weeks. Thanks for supporting me, and I'll try to keep this up to date!
