Past is Prologue …

OK, back in 2005 I was weighing in at 251 lbs (however, my highest weight was in 2004 when I weight 269 lbs). In January 2006 I started using Sparkpeople. Over the first nine months on Sparkpeople I lost over 70 lbs (hitting 178 lbs). Then over the next two years, I kept my weight around 180 lbs (that 70 lbs mark) through successful maintenance.

Present …

It's December 31, 2008 and I just weighting in at around 186 lbs. It is still a perfectly good weight (for someone my age and body type), but up four lbs in just about two months. It’s due to the excesses I’ve let slip back into my life; the parties, the slacking off on weekends, etc.

Worse off, I let myself lose control of many things in my life by letting all the bad things get to me.

SO … I’m putting myself back into weight loss mode and I'm going to totally regain control of my life. My plan: for the next two months (January and February 2009) I will get myself back down to 180 lbs. More importantly, I’m going to use this effort to get me refocused on proper maintenance of weight and life.

Refocusing on:

1) Food Tracking every day (even weekends)

2) If I don’t know what in the food, I don’t eat it.

3) Keep to the low end of my calorie range.

4) Drink the water (10 glasses as day)

5) Move. Move. Move. (Get up and walk, jump rope, bike ride, etc)

6) Keep the house stocked with good healthy foods.

7) Eat breakfast daily.

8) Stop with the breads, pastas, and rice.

9) Stop drinking and partying every week. Enojy other things that life has.

I must remind myself ... Proper weight maintenance is a lifestyle and a continuous challenge.
