    Dots,

I am taking a while getting into this Sparks! I have too much to tell, so a short introduction is all I can eek out at the moment.

Actually I was diagnosed with MS in 1992 and was in denial for years. They then diagnosed Fibromyalgia so I chalked it "all" up to that. I have had cancer (had a full hysterectomy so now cancer free) and was not diagnosed with Celiac Disease until I was almost 40 years old., when my youngest kiddo, now 6 was having problems and diagnosed. (They thought he had leukemia!) All the rest of the family were tested and my 12 yo son has it as well as myself. Explains a lot - I honestly believe that my other health problems (scoliosis, cancer, & MS) were caused by having Celiac all those years so constantly poisoning myself unknowingly. Blah blah blah. I have had my good days and bad days, slowly degrading. I was using cane or walker for past 3-4 years and in August 29th, 2007. After a whirlwind summer (We have a homeschool business - HOMESCHOOLOPOLY and I am an author, & speaker) wherein we went to 15 conferences I became paralyzed from the waste down. And ended up in the hospital in September due to breathing problems. After steroid treatments I improved a bit (still paralyzed) and came home. We have no insurance - so it's been a financial hardship on our family but it's all been worth it. I am doing so much better now, use a scooter, seat-cane, and on good days I can even walk short distances unaided!!! YIPPEE. God has allowed me a terrific recovery and I am now onto go the next step. (Pardon the pun). I just joined a health club and I am going to start doing some water fitness stuff AND there are even some machines I think I can do. (One is an automated bike with full back support on the seat - I can do it set to no resistance - I am sure I look ridiculous but.... WHO CARES!

Also, going GF DID help my MS symptoms amazingly. My neurological pain improved about 50% within 2 weeks of going GF (way before last summer) and my mobility increased as well. Even now, if I get "glutened" it exacerbates my MS within the hour. It's wild.

Personally, I have been married for almost 24 years to my high school sweetheart and we have four terrific kids. One grown son who is almost 22. He graduated from homeschool, graduated from college (B.S.) owns his own business and is now married! They just moved out to California and love it there. I also have a 16½ yo daughter, a 12 yo son, and a 6½ year old son. My help run our family business and homeschool the kiddos. (I only hs my daughter geometry, she goes to a private Christian school for everything else!)

emoticon I gained 30# since p-day (paralyzed day) and my goal is to GET IT OFF! The weight only adds to the work my body has to do and I feel fat and frumpy. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Thus, I WILL lose the weight. PERIOD!

    That's all folks! emoticon

Oh welcome welcome to our Celiac Disease and Gluten-Free team. You're a cutey soony-to-be-puney celiac, MS, ADHDer :). And I'm SURE you're so much more to so many more. :) You must be one busy mom! I hope you find SP helpful. Please introduce yourself to the team if only a short blurb. You have much to tell I'm sure. Has gf helped your MS? Which came first the celiac chicken or the MS egg? :-/. I have a friend recently diagnosed with MS (little Italian gal) ... and I'm trying to tell her about gf, but she's overwhelmed and I'm sitting back until she's more ready. Whatever advise I can save for her from you would be helpful. Peace to you on your health journey.
    Hugs,
    Dots.
