I, too, was stuck at a weight for a couple of weeks, but I kept with the program and figured it would eventually pay off. Then one morning I woke up to 2 lbs. gone overnight. Hang in there. It will come off. Your body just revolts sometimes. LOL

I went to that new church over the weekend. We LOVED it, I think we found a new church home! yay! Anyway, Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!

One thing I did for a day to "jump start" my weight loss, was I hardly ate much and then went back on the program. I don't understand why that one day of little eating was followed by weight loss, but it seemed to help?

    Hey Pamela -

Just a short note to say Have a safe and fun holiday weekend! (minus the burgers, brats, dogs, potato salad and pies of course). Hope it's sunny there- coz it's not here. It's overcast and cold. blah.

just dropping by to say good morning (afternoon here). Hope you slept well. I changed our bedsheets last night - so I slept reaaaal good (I love the clean sheets feeling, don't you?). Anyway, I'm still tackling laundry and the dishes I ran in the dishwasher yesterday need to be put AWAY. Fun Fun.

Just wanted to encourage you to get those arms pumping if you can and a little huffing and puffing never hurt anyone (too much). I'm going to trot my butt outside and water some trees I planted and fill my birdfeeders because some hungry ones scattered seeds everywhere.

    Love your way!

Hi Sweetface. How long did it take me to lose it? Trick question! lol. After CD dx, I gained 20 lbs in short order - increased labored breathing and wheezing/asthma-like sounds, GERD (it was so awful) -- I don't even remember how I lost 16 of the 20. So, in essense, I'm kinda back to where I started. The GERD and labored breathing are gone though. :) I've read on CD chat boards that w/our intestines/villi healing besides absorbing nutrients, we're also absorbing more CALORIES. Our cholesterol and blood pressure numbers go up too (I was living w/a false sense of satisfaction being fat w/low #s before my dx -- I always attributed it to my vegetarianism which was very unhealthy for me!). I just learned I'm insulin resistant (see vegetarianism comment!) and that's why I gain weight simply "eyeballing" crackers ... I shudder to think if I ever loved cake as much as my DH! (I'm more cow-like and prefer a salt-lick - ha). DH also has high BP, higher but not terrible cholesterol .. well, cholesterol is tricky - it's all the ratios that matter, not the #s .. anyway, he's a chocolate mess! We BOTH need to cut sugars from our diets to lose weight. And that's what we've been doing. He's always been an exercise guy, me: not so much == cause I hurt. But I'm gonna stop whining about it and do it anyway. Sooo, to answer your question, I gained 20, lost 16, and am losing again on lower-carb! Drinking more water .. not sure where your insulin level is .. and if you have time to ferret out my post about my experience, but knowing it might be something to consider if you're having trouble. I don't know why this isn't common knowledge ... sheesh! It's hard to educate the masses (that'd be me!). lol.

Hey - I have a lot in common with your friend Sandy - except I have a beefy DD - lol. I'm an empty nester who has moved a lot and is too tired to move again. DH is working out of state to help me. Aww. But, like Sandy's DH, he's stressed out! We will pray for our ever lovin' hubbies then, k?!

Read the book: The Schwarzbein Principle ... heck, maybe there's a group here! I'm off to check and see!

Thanks for stopping by and giving me a shout out! I appreciate you!

P.S. My DD went to Awana's also! lol
