I'm Wendy, 54 and live in Leicester, UK. I'm a Christian Spiritualist (religion) and trying to become more spiritually aware of God and his love.
Always tiny as a child (I was 36 inches high at 7, the height of an average 2yr old), As a young woman, I was a size zero 31.5-23-34 and just 4ft 10. At my heaviest, I used to have a BMI of 38.5 (only just under seriously obese) and 46-40-46, now its 24.6.1 and I'm 34-28-35, in size 8 jeans.
My doctor and a dietitian advised me to eat lots of bread, potatoes, pasta and rice but the only weight loss success I have had is by cutting them out and I started losing about 1-2 lbs a week! I keep a variety of fish, lean meat, cheese, veggies and sugar free jellies in, which I make up with frozen berries into small tupperwares and serve with a big dollop of plain pro-bio yogurt. My snacks include mixed unsalted nuts, dried fruit, high fibre flax meal and coconut, both creamed in a solid block and unsweetened for baking. I try not to go more than 3-4 hrs without a small meal and have lots of 10-20 gm snacks. I also make up meals to freeze, using my slowcooker.

My Program:
I''m trying to follow the Atkins diet combined with the GI (stable blood sugar). I enjoy fruit, salad and veg, so find it hard to keep the carbs low and the cals up but I usually eat very healthy and low fat. I also drink 8-10 beer bottles of chilled water a day and rarely have alcohol : (

Personal Information:
I had angina and a heart attack at 44, due to years of unhappy marriage, being left destitute and homeless by my ex and a 3.5 yr divorce, being a single parent, studying for an Honours Degree (just missed being in the 3% of 1st !), working part-time at Sainsburys supermarket and having to cycle 4-6 miles and walk 2 miles a day. I was diagnosed with acute Hashimoto's Hypothroidism (Myxodema) and I have to take 150mcg Levothyroxine daily and still have metabolism problems. I have since suffered violent ASBO neighbours, 7 stolen and wrecked vehicles, 2 burglaries and being mugged twice because I lost my lovely home in a nice area.

Other Information:
It hurts when other people see me as fat and assume I am a couch potato eating greasy take aways, chips and chocolate, when I only used to eat a small portion of each once a month, I don''t even do that now.
I've have been so depressed about my shape and my 'hypo' symptoms of carpal tunnel, ME. fibromyalgia and early Alheimer's, that I have been anorexic and sometimes had only 300-600 cals a day in my desperate efforts to lose weight .

    Hi Wendy! Thank you for your comment. We have a couple of small scooters, a Cushman Scooter, golf cart and a Tin Lizzy (a little jalopy run by a lawn mower engine my husband drove in parades for the Shrine Club). These are the the things that the Grandkids love to drive and I can drive myself also. The Cushman is the biggest scooter I would drive. The Harley is my husbands and I am just a passenger. I could never handle one myself and have a hard enough time getting on this one. But it is fun to go on rides with him! Paula

    You want to spice it up?!?!? The next time you make a roast in the crock pot, take the meat out and cube it. Put it in a saucepan with red chile and simmer! I've used enchilada sauce lately and let it simmer down. MMM! Serve with finely chopped lettuce and sour cream. Delicioso!

I really catch flack form my family for being the short one(I'm somewhere between 5'2" and 5'3") I hope to get into better shape so that I want have to carry all this weight on this tiny little frame!
