Hello. My name is Cindy. I am rapidly approaching 50. (Just a few months to go.) I joined SP at the end of June in 2009. I decided when I joined that ultimately my goal was to head into my fifties being fit! I am within a few pounds of my goal weight, but more importantly, I am in better shape than I was when I was in my 20's!

When I started, I was a walker and I enjoyed walking. Soon, that wasn't enough so I started incorporating running into my walking routine. My walking has morphed into running. When I started running, I could make it about 1/4 mile, walk, then run again.

I have been successful using sparkpeople and still rely on it. Maintaining my weight will be an ongoing battle especially after the holidays each year. But each year, it seems a bit easier to take off those holiday pounds.

Weight loss is not a linear graph that goes straight down, but rather a line graph with it's highs and lows and fluctuations and eventually stabilizing at a point where you feel successful and satisfied.

My Program:
I am reaching the maintenance phase of my weight loss. I still have 3 pounds to lose, but I am in no hurry to get there. I will eventually. I am watching what I eat and running 5 days a week.

Personal Information:
I live in PA, but am a native of New England. I have 4 kids (2 in college, 1 in HS and 1 in elementary). My passion is teaching (particularly math). I am fortunate that I have a job that I love!

Other Information:
I love doing Sudoku, KenKen, and Kakuro. And I love relating math to anything in "real" life. (Drives my students and my kids crazy!)
