I am the vertically challenged member of my family and unfortunately love food and cooking. Getting better at the stepping and I'm so thankful for my Fitbit "coach" keeping me moving!

Fitness Minutes: 67,964

My Goals:
Lose 75 lbs and keep it off - slow & steady wins the race.
Walk at least 70k steps per week.
Change my eating habits to healthier, better options.

My Program:
Paying attention to my Fitbit.
Tracking all the food I eat.
Cutting back liquid calories and eating more raw fruits & veggies.
Walk at least 5km per day.

Personal Information:
Lived in Cambridge ON, Canada all my life. The city straddles the Grand River and rises uphill from the river valley. It's one of the earliest inland settlements of Ontario, built by the woollens industry and has beautiful old architecture with many heritage homes. The Grand also is a heritage river and is beautiful to walk along or canoe and kayak.
April 20, 2016 - started wending my way westward to my new home in Maple Creek SK where my mom spent her first 22 years.
April 2017 - Definitely different than Ontario but not the flat prairie that you think of - Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park is 20 minutes away and a good place to get "stairs" but the closest city is actually Medicine Hat AB - 45 minutes away.

Other Information:
I had to buy a Fitbit to find out how much I love walking. Everytime I fall off the rails, I come back to that Golden Book of childhood "The Little Engine That Could" as I pant uphill "I know I can, I know I can!"

    You can keep ice cream that long in your house?!?! OMG I'm super impressed! I can't keep any sweets at all in the house or I go into hoover mode. So do you have a food that you can't keep in the house?

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl.     Sounds like a dreadful thing to do - walking in that bitter cold! Is there any way you can either dress better for it so you're not suffering so much or get an indoor machine of some sort?
