I am just trying to accept what cannot be changed and improve what can be changed so I can love what I have.

Fitness Minutes: 29,488

My Goals:
I am here to gain weight, not lose it (even though my "weight loss ticker" begs to disagree-it wouldn't set it up for me unless I entered a lower weight, so work backwards. My goal is now 126, and I am starting at 121). I am trying to recover from a decade of eating disorders and trying to rebuild after years of muscle atrophy and other related or unrelated damages to my body. I am setting the bar pretty low: a small 5 pound gain. Believe me, it is much harder than it sounds.

My Program:
I rehabilitating some hip and back problems of unknown origins which have left me unable to run or do much other exercise consistently for a number of years. I tend to do the bulk of my cardio and strength training (stationary and recumbent bikes, elliptical, weight machines) on the weekends when I do not have to be at work. I fill in the gaps with walks during breaks at work and dumbbells and Thera bands in the evenings. Plus a LOT of stretching.

Personal Information:
My name is Rebecca. I was raised in a desert town in Southern California where there's not much to do, especially in the hot summer months when you have to get up at 5 am just to go for a walk. Currently living in Los Angeles but eager to return to the Pacific Northwest where I lived from 2009-10.

Other Information:
I am an environmental-political-animal rights-activist. I live for music. I believe it is the soundtrack to life and thoroughly essential for survival. I like to try new things, but can be a little timid at times when it comes to stepping out of my comfort zone. I just need a little push once in a while. I am currently a Music Industry major but may pick up another major in Human Performance from the Kinesiology Department.

    Hey congrats again on USC. When I visited there last it wasn't in the best area - I hope they have safe trails for you to run on. I don't really have any training advice. I do about 3-4 runs per week, short/long, short/ 2miles then 9 miles, rest a day, 3 miles then 6 miles. Rest/x-train 2 days. Works for me, but then I'm not a top runner like you were!!! Good luck and hope you're chillin' in LA soon!

    emoticon Congrats on the school thing - that sounds really interesting!
    I'm making it ok - it's supposed to be 100 today and the humidity is crazy, so it's surface of the sun hot from about 8 am on. It was still 91 at 9:30 last night! Makes it easy to get those 8 glasses of water in-you sweat that much!

    Looking forward to my beach trip, oil spill and all.
    Nursing classes start back on the 11th of August, so I'm excited about getting back into the classroom and apprehensive about juggling school, work, home and family while not losing my Spark!
