Thanks for stopping by. I am 52 years old and have been married for 24 years and am the mother of 2 wonderful boys (ages 20 and 24).

I have had trouble maintaining my weight for almost my entire adult life. Once I started having kids, it was very easy to forget to exercise and eat right all the time. I got up to a weight of 242 pounds. I started working on losing weight at the beginning of August 2010. By the end of February due to exercising 2 hours a day and counting every calorie that went into my mouth, I got down to 145 pounds and a size 8. In my wildest dreams I never thought I would ever get down to single digit sizes again.

I was doing really well maintaining until about September or October of 2011. I began snacking too much and not exercising, which put me back up to 169 and definitely out of my size 8. I refuse to buy more fat clothes. I have some pants that I still fit into while I start working on getting back down to at least 145. I have learned that I cannot have the least little bit of a sedentary lifestyle and stay the healthy weight that I need to get to.

(Update 10-23-15) I have kept the weight off and up until recently I maintained between 130-140 lbs. In March, I started running with my son. This cross training with my cycling helped me to get down to 125 - 130lbs and I am maintaining it. In July, a Planet Fitness was put into our small town and my husband and I got a membership. Just with the addition of the gym rather than working out only at home, cycling and running I am now maintaining between 120-123 lbs.

I have to control my sweet addiction and watch closely what I eat but through this journey I have learned how to maintain good health and healthy habits. I have spent the last 3 years retraining my family as well. They are gerting used to Mom not buying junk food. They don''t always like it but they know why I do it. They do pick up their own snacks once in awhile but it isn''t as often as I used to buy it. God give me strength to carry on and stay strong.

(Update 7-21-13) I have maintained between 130 - 135 since March. I still have the goal of getting down to 125. I have been working hard on trying to exercise at least once a day. It doesn''t always work out that way especially during the school year, so that is one of the things I need to work on big time once school starts back up.

(Update 1-11-13) I have gotten down to the 145 and less. So much so that I have set a new goal of maintaining at 120-125. I do not know if this will be possible because I have been between 128-132 for 4 months. I am just going to have to keep working and if God wants me to just be between 125-130 then so be it. I am still not the 242 that I used to be and I refuse to ever go back there again.

My Program:
What I am doing is really simple. I am just counting every calorie that goes in my mouth and try to exercise everyday. This part is the hardest because life happens and this is usually what gets put on the back burner first.
