4-12-2019 Same BMI, 221 lbs, but have lost 1.5 inches all around without losing any significant weight. I won't argue!!! LOL Energy level is up there. I mowed the front and the back today. Got my first tan of the season ... hope my back didn't burn. It feels a bit hot and scratchy. But the sun feels so good on my skin - it was windy... gorgeous day, indeed.

3-6-2019 BMI at 32.8 Life is getting a bit too busy for my taste, since I used to think I was retired. Guess I was wrong. The rescue is taking off, have been asked to fill in at an insurance company for 6 months. No time to dawdle.

12-20-2018 BMI Down to 34.8, Everything seems to fall into place. Looking back on the past year, I miss the whirlwind in a way. Life is settling into the old hohum drum ... but the weight might be coming down ... not holding my breath yet. :)

7-30-2018 Catching up: I am finally getting control of my diabetes. My BMI has gone down from 40 to 36.1, I am slowly seeing success. My husband passed last November, after a 2 year battle with lung cancer. It was a tough time. But I have found my balance, and am going on with a huge hole in my heart ... but it's not a pot hole, just a void that I feel often, but am handling it. 40 years with a person is a long time, and suddenly not having anyone to share your memories with is ... strange. So many things we did as a habit, that now nobody understands, or that I cannot share with anyone, because they were our quirks .. Life is different, but I am hell bent on making it good. That's what he would have wanted. I think of him every single day.

5-24-2018 BTW, I am still grain and sugar free since 2015. Haven't touched those poisons consciously ever since. Mind you, they are embedded in a lot of foods, especially when you go and eat out. I've pretty much stopped eating out, unless I go to my favorite Asian Buffet here, which has a bunch of healthy, clean foods, just steamed or roasted, all the shrimp you can eat (yum) and vegetables galore.

4-30-2018 I've been watching My 600 lb life for a looong time. In each episode, Dr. Now tells the people to lose 30-40 lbs in 2 months or even 1 month and how it is a mathematical and scientific equation... I finally GOT it. I spent some money on a fitbit and fitbit scale ... and have lost 3.6 lbs in 4 days. Of course, the digital scale is not mal-adjusted like my old manual scale, so now I have to play catch up. That sucks, because I am back up to 261.4 where I was down to 256 on the manual scale. But I know this works and I will make needed adjustments.

3-17-2018 Happy St. Patty's Day if you celebrate that. I hit 62 (gasp) Much has happened in the last 2 years. I'm not ready to talk about it yet. But I'm getting good at Dodge Ball and handling Curve Balls. This year I am finally able to slowly destress and try and find a way to live with my new life and see if I can find my laughter.

1-29-2017 Played around with grain-free for a year, but never cut out the sugar. Chocolates, Toffees, Trail Mixes. Did not gain a pound, or lose, but became almost diabetic.
I've been sugar and grain free since the 7th of January. Lost 14 lbs in 3 weeks, and dropped my blood glucose by 30 points.

10-3-2015: After 1.5 years of a totally sedentary job my weight and waist enlarged. But on Labor Day 2015, I had an epiphany, after having a severe allergic reaction... I found the Wheat Belly book, and my life changed. In 1 month, I lost 10 lbs without trying. I just cut out all grains and sugars and artificial foods. Just wanted to update my page to show people, there is hope. You just have to figure out that WHEAT is your killer.
