Hi all, welcome to my little slice of the internet.

I've been yo-yoing on this site for years now (under a different username/account).

I need to make some significant changes in my life. I've always had an issue with weight - in my childhood I was always called a skinny little waif.
Then in pre-teens/puberty people commented that I was putting some (too much) meat on.
Then in my teens I developed an eating disorder.
Then in my 20's it was about trying to stay healthy - often with the un-soliceted advice from others.
Now in my 30's I know I need a change.

I've tried. I'm tired of trying. I've done every non-gimmicky diet out there, and a few of the gimmicky ones as well.
Weight watchers
Jenny Craig

I've done them (and followed them to the letter), and have never had more than a slight change.

As for exercise, I'm not new to it - I competitively rode horses for a good 10 years before 1 too many injuries took me out. Been a skier since I was 5, but now I can't find winter/ski gear large enough to fit, so I've had to give that up.
Been a dancer (at times competitive) in my adult life (Irish dance), boot camps, personal trainers, biggest loser programs - I've done them. And still I get no lasting results.

Thanks to my history of eating disorders I managed to screw up my metabolism and have to work twice as hard to get half the results that most other people do.

My husband and I love to kayak, and are heading out on our first over night kayak-camping trip this summer. When we pulled the boats out for our first paddle of the season, my life jacket wouldn't fit. It's the largest one, and was already at its maximum. So I had to go without one, because I refused to let my size take away another sport I love.

And finally, and most importantly, my daughter. She's 2.5 and the love of my life. We have fun. I take her to gymnastics, dance, swimming, soccer, but none of that's going to matter if I'm not around for her.

When I was a part of SP years ago, I got within 12 pounds of getting under 200. Now I'm well over it, with even further to go.
