Taking care of my 93 year old father somewhere in "flyover country". Made the mistake of NOT taking care of myself and the result was weighing in at 243 pounds in May 2016. This was the heaviest I had EVER been and I vowed that I was NOT going to hit 250. The result...I joined Sparkpeople...bought a Fitbit ONE...got a smartscale...an Apple iphone & became a user of iHealth...got a smart blood pressure device from OMRON...and setup a personal gym in my garage and dedicated myself to fitness and proper diet and little to no alcohol. The result...today (November 20, 2016)..I have met my goal of reaching 155 pounds.

Fitness Minutes: 89,282

My Goals:
Now that I have achieved my targeted weight of 155 pounds, my revised goals include maintaining (lifelong) the 155 level (+/- 2 pounds) and lower body fat percentage while maintaining the weight goal.


My Program:
My program includes exercise (5-6 days/week) that I do first thing in the morning. Daily I stretch, do some form of aerobics and do a daily week. Every other day I alternate targeted calisthenics and strength training. I definitely take Sundays off. As for diet..I essentially follow a guideline of no sugar...no starch...no fried foods...while losing the 88 pounds I definitely intermittently fasted and found that for me, consuming the total number of desired calories in two meals (breakfast and lunch) worked best.



Personal Information:
Besides fitness...I enjoy travel, anything to do with music, cooking, sports, current events, reading, spending time with family & friends and photography.


Other Information:
The only way to succeed is to realize that making these changes is not a singular event meaning that once you achieve your goals you are NOT finished. You must accept that you need to make a lifetime...lifelong change to improve yourself and your health.
