I am a mother of four...baby weight I can't blame anymore but I am just tired of carrying it around. Determined to reach my goal weight and wow the naysayers!

I currently live in Middle River, MD but am originally from Albuquerque, NM. I have support from my childeren and my significant other. I have looked hard at my life and it has not been that bad at all. God has held me every step of the way or I would not be here. You just have to make that determination that you are going to do this, and that is what I have done.

I will be honest, Im not much for exercise but put me on the dance floor and we can go. I grew up in performing arts and love the stage! Being on here has somehow given me wings and I feel that my goal is very attainable, in fact all of them are.

My Goals:
I have 100lbs to lose. In my first 90 days I wanted to lose as much as possible..it was tough but I dropped 20lbs and still chuggin along. One of my long term goals is for my mild sleep apnea to go away and to buy the "freakin" dress I have always wanted!


My Program:
Exercise routine: 4 days/week with Hip Hop Abs, WATP and DWTS.
Eating routine: I have incorporated veggies and fruit from morning till evening. I am working on getting enough protein and may have to break down and buy a scale for measuring food. WATER, WATER, WATER! I have gone without soda sugary drinks.
Motivational goals! EVeryday God performs miracles and I am one of them! I will shrug off setbacks and look for comebacks! Somewhere in there is a healthy me waiting to get out!



Personal Information:
My name is Arlene and I am originally from Albuquerque, NM but now reside in Middle River, MD. My friends call me Tdoll or Wally. I have four children, one in the military and one about to graduate. That leaves two more to get to gettin!


Other Information:
I like to sing, dance, write, watch tv, play with my kids. I crochet and love arts and crafts and hope to get back into wedding boquets and wedding accessories

    Wow... I'm impressed with your 90 goal to lose 50 pounds! I'm averaging two pounds per week, but that's with very little exercise. I keep saying I'm going to up the exercise, but I still havent done it. LOL!

    Congrats on taking the next step to reaching a healthier you by getting active with SparkPeople - it's a great community, wonderful resources and fantastic support.

    Please check out the SparkTeams - I think you will find a lot of others 'just like you' there. You can choose SparkTeams by age group, lifestyle or interests, geographic location or several other ways - in fact, I suggest joining more than one group, post your intro there and write blogs as often as you can - you will find tons of friends and support that way, I promise!!

    In my experience, SparkPeople is like a emoticon in some ways - it's lots of fun and easy to make friends because we're all in this together. I like the way a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is emphasized instead of a 'quick fix wonder diet' - it's about waaaaaay more than 'just' losing weight so you have definitely come to the right place!

    If you ever need any help using features of the site, there are tutorial videos under the HELP section that can show you how to use the features of the site. You can also find them on the START page and several other places on the site.

    If you haven't discovered The Spark book and/or the SparkDiet linked at the bottom of the START page, check them out - the program is simple but extremely effective. There is a TON of information on this site - so much it might even seem overwhelming but fortunately we don't have to 'digest' everything at once! The FastBreak program is a good way to start.

    Another nice thing about SparkPeople is that we have permission to be human - we don't have to change everything at once or be in a hurry to reach our goals. Take a few baby steps and then a few more and before you know it, you'll have completed a long journey - I hope you enjoy this community as much as I do - it teaches us how to make positive lifetime changes because that's the only thing that will work over time!
