I have had challenges with being overweight since I was a teen. I was always physically active, so I was able to keep my weight at a reasonable level. When I was diagnosed in 2007 with bipolar disorder and rheumatoid arthritis I began to rapidly gain weight. I'm ready to become more fit, with the support of my team members.

When I joined Spark, I weighed 265 pounds. Over a period of three years I have managed to shed 72 pounds and maintain that weight. Currently my goal is a weight of 150 pounds. I plan to gradually take off the remaining 43 pounds over a 24 month period, with a target BMI of approximately 23, while becoming more active, increasing my physical fitness, lowering my LDL cholesterol, and keeping my pre-diabetes blood glucose levels in normal limits.

I want to thank my Spark friends for all the support you have given me.

Fitness Minutes: 69,236

My Goals:
1. To be able to climb 2 flights of stairs without shortness of breath.

2. To experience decreased symptoms of depression.



My Program:
2000 calorie diet

Cardio exercise 30 minutes daily for 5 days a week

Strength training on M-W-F

3. Strength training TThS for 20 minutes, alternating Spark fitness exercises with Qigong

My name is Lynne, and I am a registered nurse (retired), residing in Chehalis, WA



Other Information:
I love music. I play the piano and synthesizer keyboards. My husband and I compose and play music together (we've played for weddings and composed & performed music for 2 original local dramatic productions)
e have adopted 2 dogs at the time of the passing of my father-in-law and 8 cats from our local animal shelter.
I am a volunteer with the WA state AARP Legislative Advocacy Group and a team facilitator for the Spark Dealing with Depression Team.
I love science fiction movies and books as well as nonfiction science books.
