I am person who is very happy with life but unhappy with losing the ability to move around better as I age. I have a supportive family who has helped me while my doctor and I have discovered the roadblocks and how I can now overcome them. Looking forward to achieving my goals.

Keep my A1c levels in normal range

Lose 1 pound a week - 50 pounds this year

Show reduction in cholesterol level - Done

My Program:

Exercise Commitment:
Cardio 5 times a week - 30 minutes
Strength train 2 times a week
Core workout - 2 times a week
Gentle stretching in the morning and evening.

Nutrition Commitment:
Spark People Diabetic Meal Plan Option on the Nutrition Tracker. I like the substitution options.

I will plan my meals for the week and then make my list.

I am a retired educator. I enjoy being with family, traveling, getting outdoors, geocaching, reading, playing games and puzzles. I have a supportive husband, 2 fantastic boys, the best daughter-in-law and 2 adorable grandchildren ages 5 and 4 months.
