I am looking to start a healthier lifestyle. I am tired of taking meds all the time for diabetes and high blood pressure. The turning point was when the knee I had surgery on a couple of years ago starting hurting again like it did before the surgery. I bet if I was carrying less weight it wouldnt hurt as much. I dont have a weight loss goal, because I feel that sets me up for failure. I want to get healthier and with that should come better eating, exercise more and Im sure weight loss will follow.

My Goals:
I am setting small goals. I have found that if I say I want to lose 60 lbs, I get so frustrated because it seems impossible. So I am setting a goal of 20 lbs for now. I also want to make exercise part of a routine instead of something I "have to do". I want to lower my blood pressure and my sugars. I want to be healthier.

My Program:
I have started by not eating out and starting to cook at home. I am used to running out the door and grabbing McDonalds, or Dunkin Donuts on my way into work because it is fast and easy. I am making sure I have hard boiled eggs ready or something to grab and can make at work. I am bringing my lunch with me daily and have even made my friend at work do the same thing so that we check and balance each other. I am trying to find a way each and every day to get my body moving, whether it is parking farther away so I have to walk, or bringing my weights to work to do while Im on the phone.
