Well I’m almost at my 3 month mark now and time to update a little about me and my journey. I’ve taken more than a few steps, found some great friends here, and I am on my way to my goal of losing 68 pounds. This is the amount the doctor set for me. I’ve lost over 25 pounds and gained much more.
My daily mantras:
My life is a work in progress
I commit to living fully in this moment
All the answers are within me - as God has created me and is part of me. He will not let me fall

My weight loss journey started because of back surgeries the first 3 years ago and then last March I had to go through surgery twice in a 2 1/2 month time frame with nothing but bed rest and medication to keep me going through the process. Needless to say going from being active to a stand still I put on a lot of weight. I was no size 3 when I started this process but was in yoga instructor training and accepted my body for its flaws and felt things were changing. I went to my doctor as I was told if I didn't get this weight off quickly I would be looking at back surgery again certainly in the next year. I went to my doctor who handles my day to day treatment and she me put me on Phen ran blood tests and found I have high cholesterol and my blood sugar is running dangerously high. So now I am staying focused and taking one day at a time. Exercise is hard for me as my back is very weak so I am limited but I do try to get in 10-13 minutes cardio 3-4 times a weeks on my treadclimber.

My Goals:
Goal 50 lbs - or risk facing surgery again. Tried other plans before - working under a doctors supervison and knowing it will be different this time

My Program:
Very limited on activity at this time - Doctor put me on Phen to get my metabolism going - 1200 calories a day - water water and more water. 10 mintues on the tread climber 4-5 times a week. Miss being able to do yoga but meditate daily

Personal Information:
Married - 42 - 2 kids - small town - doing this not only for my health but to feel like myself again. Want to get my body back into the shape to be able to do my yoga and ride my horses. 20 acres dogs cats ferrets - we take in everyones strays.

Other Information:
Is this heaven? No its Iowa....
Actually its my own little piece of heaven and I love it here.
My favorite pastime spending time with my husband golfing, driving, bowling just laughing and enjoying life

Oh, Dawn, thanks for stopping by my page! I really do enjoy your blogs and I'm so glad you are back writing them again. I think we do find the connections we need - what is that saying, God doesn't give us what we want, but rather what we need - something like that? And so it works out for both people involved!

Good luck with the remodeling at your house today - sounds like a good time to be GONE! And then hire someone to come in and clean up afterwards.... Hope you are very happy with the new digs! Have a wonderful day!

    Hey Girl!

Just checking in to see how you are doing. I read your blog, so that's good news about your husband's job and your daughter. You must be truly happy with those changes. How's your back? My DH hurt his the other day, and he is still in pain. Doctor said no broken bones or disk problems, just muscle, but he is miserable.

    Take care, and welcome back!
