22nd June 2015
Here I am again. I've just had a mini overhaul of this page but I'll leave the past 'introduction text' for the time being. Suffice to say I'm approaching this continued journey with renewed vigour and determination.

Huh! That is sooooooooo unfair. I wanted to take a look at some other people's pages so I'd get an idea what to write - but it can't be done. Winging it again - nothing new there then!

21st Feb '09
Well I've had a few days now to look around. And I've realised this is MY page and I can do what I like. I've had such fun reading other people's ideas though. A number of people have said how they aim to get into a particular outfit etc. I am going out with a friend to celebrate his birthday begining of March. It will only be two weeks since I started this so I can't expect miracles. I've looked in my wardrobe and chosen a dress that was just fractionally too tight before. I'm hoping I'll be able to wear it.

Well, I eventually got into the dress........... Now I'm going to have to choose another outfit to target on. Time I took some new pics too.

*ahem* Here I go again. Older and wiser [in theory], but still not slimmer.

8th August '12

Yey - seems this time I am getting back on track. For various reasons I have to approach it in a different way this time but it seems to be working.

Goal 1 133 lbs - target date 29th June 2015 ACHIEVED - 22nd June 2015

Goal 2 126 lbs - target date 17th August 2015 ACHIEVED 31st August 2015

Goal 3 124.8 lbs [best I've previously achieved over the last few years] - target date 31st August 2015 ACHIEVED 14th September 2015

Goal 4 122 lbs [half way to final goal] - target date 14th September 2015 ACHIEVED 31st October 2015

Goal 5 119 - target date 5th October 2015 ACHIEVED [at last] 30th November 2015

Goal 6 112 lbs - target date 23rd November 2015

Goal 7 105 lbs - target date 25th January 2016

Final Goal 98 lbs - target date 14th March 2016


My Program:
June 2015

Currently I'm being mindful of what I eat and watching portion sizes. Either yogurt, or cereal and fruit for breakfast. Home made soup for lunch, and a healthy home cooked meal, mainly vegetarian or pescatarian for dinner.

Exercise/walking is difficult at the moment so I've committed to a minimum of 15 minutes walking per day. To keep me going, I'm 'Walking to Mordor'.

Other Information:
I live a mad life with children, parents and pets dependant on me. I'm preparing for the time when the children will need me less by getting fit (hopefully) and studying. Oh and trying to look '10 years younger' without resorting to surgery. ;-0

June 2015 update

The children aren't so dependent on me now. I'm still trying to look 10 years younger though. Or maybe 10 years healthier!

    Re: not using my oven in the summer-generally no. I do buy chicken tenders and ground beef/turkey in large packages and cook beforehand. Then we eat salads, skillet meals, and fresh veggie dishes. If cooking pieces of meat, I use my air fryer.

    Your 'soul mate' is out there - just keep your eyes open, your options open, and look for the diamond in the rough.

    My soul-mate was 30 years older, was 6 months widowed after tending a bedridden wife for 2 years so I knew he had no money - and he had a "fried-chicken belly" - but I had prayed for someone to love me who would also take the love I had to offer - and God delivered Ray. His love replaced the love I was getting from 2 dogs and 1 cat.

    The day I 'met him' he was late for the singles supper but I bravely walked up to him and said, "you owe me some conversation at the next meeting." 2 weeks later, the 2nd meeting was held at a park, he picked me out in the parking lot even though I was walking with another elderly man (my neighbor wanted to go with me) - the rest is history.

    He asked me out on the way back from the bathroom - but that is another story.

    In other words, keep your eyes open. Ray would not have been appealing to most women, but God delivered to me the person I needed to be with.

    I was 33 when we met, 34 when we married - and we were together 33 years, to the day we met.
