“Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. Love still stands when all else has fallen.”

I am a mother of four children, Ages 20, 16, 14, and 10 who are my pride and joy. I have also been married for 25 years to a wonderful man.

The past three years however have been challenging ones.
I have had the privilege to be involved in taking care of my terminally ill sister who has always been my best friend and confidante.
We went to Doctor appointments together, talked about life and death, and told each other over and over how much we loved one another. I was blessed to be with her, at home when she died.

She asked me during her lengthy illness to watch over her children when she finally left this earth and make sure her husband of 35 years was ok.

On May 25, 2010 she lost her battle and joined my parents in heaven.

Our family is grieving and we're doing the best we can. Life is very hard without her.

She was the best Aunt any kid could ask for. My children's sadness at their loss is hard to watch. I can only feel that God has a plan that for us is hard to understand.

In the midst of all of this I know in my heart I can choose to live life to it's fullest or grieve myself into despair.
To honor the person she was I am choosing to push forward, think positivly, and take care of myself.
I know how much better I feel when I pay attention to my health and do what is right for me.

So I re-committ to Spark People on this day of August 26th.

I pledge to better my life by losing weight and embracing even the difficult moments. Life is precious and all too short.

I love you my dear sister.

My Goals:
My goals are simple...sure I want to lose weight but even more importantly I want to love and appreciate myself at any weight. Self love and then self care...and then weight loss.

The most important thing is I'm back and I'm giving it another shot. Never gave up actually just had so much going on and didn't spend much time on SP. It's funny how much I missed seeing people. Good to be back.

My Program:
My program is simply to eat healthfully and mindfully and exercise reguarly. I will record everything in the nutrition tracker and stay within my calorie range. Now that I'm mostly gluten free due to digestive upsets it makes it a bit harder to plan.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Maryland. After getting married we moved to Upstate NY for 11 years. Moved back home eventually and got to spend the last 10 years with my parents before they passed away. I am Catholic and I count on my faith to get me through the really hard times. My children and husband are the most important people in my life. I am very close to my extended family in Md. and frequently host dinners to celebrate various holidays and /birthdays. That is when I am at my happiest when all my family is around and we are laughing and having a good time.
